There was about 40,000 in the pot on a flop of As8c2d. Matt Bretzfield checked from the big blind and Josh Clanton bet 6,000 from the hijack. Igor Tretyakov folded on the button and Bretzfield called.

“I can’t fold for 6,000,” said Bretzfield. “Maybe I can go runner-runner.”

The turn was the 5d and Bretzfield checked. Clanton bet 6,000.

“Are you all in?” asked Bretzfield.

“I’m getting there,” said Clanton, exposing the 2,000 he has remaining after his bet.

“I guess I can save 2,000 if I miss,” said Bretzfield.

The river was the Tc and Bretzfield check-folded to Clanton’s shove. He showed KdJd7x6x.

“I almost got there,” said Bretzfield with a laugh.
