After the pre-game announcements, tournament staff put cards back in the air for Day 2 of the WPTDeepStacks events. There are 171 players remaining to leave them only 69 knockouts from the money.

Two flights of the WPTDeepStacks event combined to put 816 players in the game, good enough to triple the $250,000 Guarantee put on the mid-week $1,100 buy-in tournament.

And the list of returning players reads like any top tournament in the world. November Niner Joseph Cheong is the starting Day 2 chip leader followed by former WPT Player of the Year Mukul Pahuja, WSOP final tablist Brandon Ageloff, and WPT Commentator/WPT Champions Club Member/WSOP bracelet winner Tony Dunst.

It’s a tough returning field and they have some work to do from the very restart. Only 171 players remain and 102 are set to earn some money; it will not take long for the bubble to get here.

The second and final flight of the WPTDeepStacks $1,100 no-limit hold’em got underway on Tuesday and it drew another 502 entries. At the end of 15 levels, those 502 was trimmed down to just 107 with Joseph Cheong leading the Day 1B field.

Cheong bagged up 384,500 to bag up the heaviest bag in the field. He also edged out Day 1A chip leader, Mukul Pahuja for the overall lead.

Joining Cheong at the top of the Day 1B leaderboard are Brandon Ageloff (360,500), Jackson Lashey (340,500), Adil Khan (323,500) and Kevin Torres (320,000).

Other notables to survive the second flight include Arkadiy Tsinis, Jonathan Hilton, Ryan Hughes, Ryan Jones, Victor Figueroa, Nick Palma, Cord Garcia, Joe Ebanks, Olivier Busquet, Matt Stout, Ravi Raghavan, Chad Eveslage, Nancy Birnbaum, Jake Bazeley, Ness Reilly, Jonathan Dimmig, Josh Turner, Eoghan O’Dea, Tim Reilly and Allen Kessler.

The 502 entries on Tuesday brought the total field size to 816 entries with 171 returning for Day 2. Day 2 gets underway on Wednesday at noon with blinds of 1,500/3,000 and a 500 ante. It is scheduled to play down to a winner, but if there is still one table remaining at 3 a.m., those players will have the option to play down to a winner or return on Thursday at 2 p.m. to finish the event.
