2019 FITS Main Event Champion, Devond Marshall & Tournament Manager, Jason Heidenthal

The Main Event of the 2019 Fun in the Sun Poker Open took place on Sunday. The $570 No-Limit Hold’em tournament drew 286 entries and generated a prize pool of $143,000, easily surpassing the $100,000 guarantee. A seven-way deal at the final table was reached, and as the chip leader it was Devond Marshall who earned the victory, his first official major tournament win.

Marshall entered the final table fourth in chips, but scored an elimination to ascend the leaderboard into the chip lead. The deal was reached shortly thereafter and Marshall had his fourth-largest live tournament score locked up.

Marshall’s previous best scores also came at the Seminole Hard Rock, the biggest of which was at the 2018 Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open in the opening $360 event, which also resulted in a seven-way deal and a six-figure payday.
