There was another blind-vs.-blind situation involving pocket queens, but this time it was a hell of a cooler. Especially considering the fact that Scott Robbins was just moved to this table the previous hand, after the elimination of Luis Mantilla in 13th place.

Phil Hui got it all in from the big blind for about 3 million with QsQc, but he needed to improve to stay alive against the KsKh of Robbins in the small blind.

The board came 9h4s2c7dJh, and the pocket kings held up for Robbins to win the pot and eliminate Hui in 12th place.

Scott Robbins  –  9,000,000  (90 bb)
Phil Hui  –  Eliminated in 12th Place  ($8,935)

Luis Mantilla

In a blind-vs.-blind situation, Luis Mantilla was all in from the big blind for 3,900,000 with QsQc, and he need his hand to hold to stay alive against the Kd9d of Angel Bracho, who had him barely covered with 4,000,000 in the small blind.

The board came Jh10d5dKh8d — Bracho flopped a diamond flush draw, turned a pair of kings, and rivered his flush to win the pot and eliminate Mantilla in 13th place.

Angel Bracho  –  8,225,000  (82 bb)
Luis Mantilla  –  Eliminated in 13th Place  ($7,311)

Tim Marcus moved all in under the gun for 400,000, Angel Bracho called UTG+1, Luis Mantilla called from the hijack, and Jeffrey Colpitts called from the big blind. Any further betting will create a side pot.

The flop came 8d4s2d, and Colpitts bet 500,000. Bracho tanked for a long time before he called, and then Mantilla thought for a while before he also called, creating a side pot worth 1.5 million.

The turn card was the Jh, and all three players checked.

The river card was the 6c, Colpitts bet 300,000, Bracho tanked for a while before he folded, and Mantilla also folded. Colpitts took the side pot.

Marcus showed Ac2s for a pair of deuces, but Colpitts turned over 8c5c to win the pot with a pair of eights. Marcus was eliminated in 14th place.

Jeffrey Colpitts  –  6,800,000  (68 bb)

After a long period with no bustouts, there was a brief flurry of eliminations.

Talesh Patel was all in from middle position for about 775,000 with Ad8d, and he needed to improve to stay alive against the QsQc of Devond Marshall in the big blind.

The board came 10s8c6c5c6s — Patel paired his eight on the flop, but improved no further. Marshall won the pot with his pocket queens to eliminate Patel in 17th place.

Michael Newman  –  11,800,000  (118 bb)
William Rincon – Eliminated in 15th Place  ($7,311)

After the hand, Newman said, “I’ve played at a lot of tables in my life, and this is the toughest table in history. Write that down — toughest table in history.”

About halfway thru Level 28, with 14 players remaining, the average chip stack is about 4.4 million (44 big blinds).
