There was a huge field for today’s $150 Big Stack NLH event, with 501 entries more than doubling the guaranteed prizepool. Combine the large field with the 6:00 pm start, and this event didn’t even reach it’s final table until after 2:30 am — after the players in Event 1 stopped playing for the night.

About an hour and a half later, the final five players decided to make a deal for an ICM chop, ending the event and awarding the trophy to chipleader Ernesto Gomez Galvez.

Galvez, a local player from Cutler Bay, Florida, earned $7,697, plus a seat into Event 21, $2,500 No Limit Hold’em. This was the biggest cash of his live tournament career, and Galvez has the opportunity to parlay it into even more money if he cashes in Event 21.

We expected a great turnout for our small buy-in, big prize tournament on a Monday evening and it did not disappoint. The tournament drew 501 entries to more than double the $30,000 Guarantee in the $150 buy-in tournament.

They combined to put together a prize pool worth $60,120 and the last 63 spots will be paid out. A min-cash is worth $213 but everyone will be aiming for the top spot with $11,772 waiting along with a seat into the $2,500 buy-in/$300,000 Guarantee LHPO Event 21 field.

The second new event on today’s schedule has a lot to offer for a little output. A perfect spot for those who went deep in the Ultimate Re-Entry event and want some more action.

Event 8 is a $150 buy-in Big Stack tournament with a $30,000 guaranteed prize pool. On top of the money, there is a $2,500 seat into the $300,000 Guarantee LHPO Event 21 added to the prizes for the winner of the tournament.

Each player will start out with their 15,000 big stack and all levels will last 20 minutes. Late registration and unlimited re-entries available until the start of Level 10 at 9:20pm. The tournament will move quickly and we will crown another champ later this evening.
