Eric Baldwin

Flight B kicked off at noon sharp and quickly climbed over 100 entries in the first level. Another good start to a good day.

We found a few friends who traveled to get here this afternoon. Eric Baldwin is in town from Vegas and this is a nice warmup for the WPT Poker Showdown Championship starting on Friday. He is a two-time WSOP bracelet winner with his second coming this past summer.

Anthony Dianaty lives a little closer. He’s a regular in our sister room in Tampa and has a handful of wins on the other side of the state.

$250,000 Guarantee | Structure
Level 1: 100/100

Event 9 is already a success and we still have the second of two starting flights to go. The $1,100 buy-in tournament had a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool that was beaten in the first flight and now they’ll just be piling money on top throughout the day.

We had 262 entries yesterday and 35 survived to advance to Day 2 on Wednesday with Ofer Peleg leading. We should add the same number today and double the prize pool.

Event 9 entrants will sit down to 25,000 starting stacks and all levels last 40 minutes long. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 10 at 7:30pm after an hour-long dinner break. Flight B will come to an end after Level 15 and we will have our Day 2 field set.

We get underway at noon with a crowd of talented players.

David Moreno

The Event 9 field continues to grow with 100 entries so far and it looks like the $250,000 guaranteed prize pool will be an easy path with late registration open today until 7:30pm and an entire flight going tomorrow.

We mentioned Cathy Josey earlier and we found another series champion in today’s field. David Moreno won the Deep Stack Turbo last night in a heads-up deal with Phil Hui. He walked away with more than $11,000 and is back in action this afternoon.

Cathy Josey

The clock hit noon and tournament staff kicked off Event 9 in the front of the Event Center. We had 45 entries at the start and added another dozen or so for a good kickoff.

Cathy Josey was in her seat from the first hand and she is freerolling the big buy-in tournament. We hosted a Ladies Brunch on Saturday followed by the Ladies Event later in the afternoon. Cathy Josey outlasted a tough final table to take the title and part of her prize included her seat in today’s $1,100 buy-in $250,000 Guarantee tournament.
