Day 1 came to an end with six players remaining, and the biggest stack belongs to Chris Brewer, who bagged up 1.64 million (82 big blinds).

Here are the official chip counts, followed by the prizepool:

Seat 1.  Arthur Conan  –  170,000  (9 bb)
Seat 2.  Sam Soverel  –  1,145,000  (57 bb)
Seat 3.  Chris Brewer  –  1,640,000  (82 bb)
Seat 4.  Seth Davies  –  1,520,000  (76 bb)
Seat 5.  Jeremy Ausmus  –  265,000  (13 bb)

1st:  $733,320
2nd:  $468,510
3rd:  $295,365
4th:  $203,700
5th:  $142,590
6th:  $112,035
7th:  Ilyas Muradi  –  $81,480

With 42 entries, this became the largest Super High Roller in Seminole Hard Rock Poker history, with a prizepool worth $2,037,000. The previous record was 41 entries during the 2019 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open.

This was a single re-entry tournament, and there were nine players who took advantage by buying in a second time. But only one of them parlayed that second buy-in far into a money finish — Seth Davies, who is currently second in chips.

Day 2 begins tomorrow (Thursday) at 2:00 pm EDT, when they will play down to a winner. And we will continue to provide live updates right here on SHRPO.com.

Ilyas Muradi

With the board showing 10h9s6h4s on the turn, Ilyas Muradi got it all in from the big blind for about 400,000 with Ah9h — a pair of nines with a heart flush draw.

But Muradi would need to improve to stay alive against the AsAd of Chris Brewer, who was UTG+1.

The river card was the 7c, and the pocket aces held up for Brewer to win the pot and eliminate Muradi in seventh place.

Chris Brewer  –  1,555,000  (104 bb)
Ilyas Muradi  –  Eliminated in 7th Place  ($81,480)

A floorperson told Muradi that he would take him over to the payout table to get paid, and that’s when Sean Winter — who scored the knockout on the Money Bubble — asked, “Are we in the money?”

The remaining six players are, of course, in the money, guaranteed at least $112,035 each. The average chip stack is about 875,000 (58 big blinds), and there are less than five minutes remaining before play ends for the night.

Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

With nine players remaining, combining to a final table at eight, and only the final seven players getting paid, the action has slowed to a crawl.

While both tables were playing roughly the same number of hands, they were both stalling to the point that the players requested hand-for-hand play. After the stalling continued for a while, hand-for-hand play began, and the pace picked up.

Eventually, Alex Foxen moved all in from the cutoff for 145,000, and Ilyas Muradi called from the big blind with 9h9c.

Foxen turned over JsJc, and he needed his jacks to hold to stay alive.

The board came 9s7c2h2d7h, and Muradi flopped a set of nines and turned a full house to win the pot and eliminate Foxen in ninth place.

Sean Perry was all in from the button for 160,000 with Ad9h, and he needed to improve to stay alive against the AcJh of Chris Brewer in the cutoff.

The board came 4d4s2sAh2d, and Perry jokingly shouted “chop.” But Brewer won the pot with two pair, aces and fours, with a jack kicker, to eliminate Perry in 11th place.

Chris Brewer  –  925,000  (93 bb)
Sean Perry  –  Eliminated

All day, Perry has been repeatedly making the claim that he’s the 11th-best player in the world, though he never seemed to offer up any evidence to back up that claim.

After Perry’s elimination, Jason Mercier said, “Well, he did finish 11th in this event. So he’s 11th in the world, and 11th in this event.”
