Ashraf Chehata

A player moved all in under the gun for 35,500, but Ashraf Chehata didn’t notice it from the small blind, so he called, thinking he was just calling the 2K big blind. But it’s ruled a call of the all-in bet.

After action completed at the other six tables, the UTG player turned over 10h10c, and he needed it to hold to stay alive against Chehata’s Ah7c.

The board came Qs6d3cAs5h, and Chehata paired his ace on the turn to win the pot and eliminate his opponent on the Money Bubble.

Chehata apologized, though he had already made it clear that he would not have called if he knew the UTG player had moved all in. But the rest of the field was appreciative that the Money Bubble had been relatively quick, and they were now in the money.

Ashraf Chehata  –  320,000  (160 bb)

With 37 players remaining, the average chip stack is about 88,000 (44 big blinds), and the remaining players are all guaranteed to earn at least $505 each.

Two spots away from the money, Isaac Freund was all in from the button for 17,000 with Ac10c, and he needed to improve to stay alive against the AhKs of Darryl Wettlaufer in the small blind.

The board came Qs7s5cKdAs — Freund turned a gutshot straight draw, but missed his outs. Wettlaufer won the pot with two pair, aces and kings, to eliminate Freund in 39th place.

After a flop of Js7s6s, Shane Raikes bet 3,000 from the cutoff, and Mukul Pahuja called from the button.

The turn card was the 5h, Raikes bet 13,000, and Pahuja called. The river card was the 2h, and both players checked. Raikes showed As10c for ace high (missed his flush draw), and Pahuja turned over 8d8c to win the pot with a pair of eights.

Mukul Pahuja  –  88,000  (59 bb)
Shane Raikes  –  83,000  (55 bb)

A short while later, a player at another table got it all in from the button for 10,500 with Ks10h, and needed to improve to stay alive against the 7h7c of Isaac Freund in the big blind.

The board came AcQd4c9cAh, and the pocket sevens held up for Freund to win the pot and eliminate his opponent.

Isaac Freund  –  40,000  (27 bb)

The next hand, Freund completed the small blind to 1,500, the big blind raised to 5,500, and Freund moved all in for 40,000. The big blind thought for a while before he folded, and Freund took the pot.

Isaac Freund  –  47,000  (31 bb)

Cameron Storto

Trung Pham raised from the cutoff to 1,400, Mark Dube reraised from the small blind to 4,600, and Cameron Storto four-bet it from the big blind to 10,600. Pham quickly folded, and Dube tanked for a long time before he called.

The flop came 9s5s5d, Dube checked, Storto bet 5,800, and Dube folded. Storto took the pot.

Cameron Storto  –  61,000  (102 bb)
Mark Dube  –  30,000  (50 bb)

Their table broke after that hand, and soon after that the blinds increased to 400-800. Then Storto got involved in another pretty big pot.

After a flop of AcQh2c, Storto bet about 4,100 from the small blind, Peter Striano raised from the button to 12,000, and Storto called.

The turn card was the 8d, and both players checked.

The river card was the 7d, Storto bet 8,500, and Striano quickly called with Ad10s for a pair of aces. But Storto turned over AhKh to win the pot with a pair of aces and a king kicker to reach about 100,000 in chips.

Cameron Storto  –  100,000  (125 bb)
Peter Striano  –  67,000  (84 bb)

And here are a few other chip counts from around the field:

Scott Baumstein  –  31,000  (39 bb)
Trung Pham  –  28,000  (35 bb)
Carlos Dorca  –  23,000  (29 bb)
Jorge Gomez  –  19,500  (24 bb)
Gloria Jackson  –  15,500  (19 bb)
Britney Billian  –  5,000  (6 bb)

Registration remains open with a single re-entry option until the end of the upcoming break, around 4:30 pm. The field has already exceeded the $50K guarantee, with a prizepool worth more than $68,000 so far.

Ricardo Eyzaguirre

Time is running out to join the popular Six-Max tournament with a little under one hour remaining in registration. The single re-entry tournament is on the verge of hitting 200 entries and it has an outside chance to double its $50,000 guarantee.

We found Ricardo Eyzaguirre in today’s field and always a danger to the rest of the field. With eight tournament wins on his resume, he know how to close. One thing he is missing; a major SHRP title despite winning in the Poker Room. Eyzaguirre has several close calls and this would be a good one to take home.
