2021 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Event 16 Champion Scott Matejka

Event 16 of the 2021 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open was a $600 Limit Omaha 8 (Freeze-Out). A field of 111 players generated a prize pool of $58,275.

A heads-up deal was reached between the final two players and as the chip leader at the time, Scott Matejka was the official winner. The Kissimmee, FL native doesn’t play in many tournaments, but was obviously thrilled with the result tonight.

“I don’t usually play tournaments,” admitted Matejka afterward. “I usually play small stakes cash, so this is definitely the biggest result I’ve ever had.”

Matejka topped a tough final table that included multiple SHRP trophy winners Gabe Ramos and Phil Hui.

Nicolas Milgrom – 3rd Place

The pattern during Level 24 was simply this: Danny Chang would double through Nicolas Milgrom, and then Chang would get scooped by Scott Matejka. This happened four times until it got to the point where Chang overtook Milgrom in chips before eliminating him.

Matejka raised from the button, Milgrom called from the small blind and Chang called from the big blind.

The flop was Qd7h6d and Milgrom checked to Chang who bet. Matejka got out of the way and Milgrom committed his remaining chips.

Chang: AhQs6h5d
Milgrom: Ks9h4s3h

Chang had queens and sixes with a solid low draw, while Milgrom had the better low draw but no high hand at this point.

The Kh turn and 4h river completed the board, giving both players a flush, but Chang scooped the pot with the nut flush and a 7-6 low to eliminate Milgrom in third place.
