2021 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Event 8 Champion Eric Piderit

Event 8 of the 2021 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open, a $400 Black Chip Bounty NLH (Single Re-Entry), drew 171 entries and generated a prize pool of $41,040, with another $17,100 dedicated to bounties. After about fourteen hours, Eric Piderit emerged victorious to capture the first-place prize of $10,730.

This is Piderit’s second Seminole Hard Rock Major trophy, having previously won a bounty event at the 2017 Showdown series, also outright. Playing for the win is important to Piderit, who does not entertain the idea of a chop.

“I don’t even know what first place pays,” Piderit said before heads-up play began. “If ever I make a huge final table, I’ll want the experience already of having played for the win. These tournaments are perfect for that.”

Originally from Brookline, Massachusetts, Piderit resides in Weston, Florida and is a regular at the Seminole Hard Rock. When he won his first SHRP trophy in 2017, his wife Tamra was there to see him do it. Tonight, it was his son Caleb on-site to witness the victory.

“He’s my best friend in the world,” Piderit said of Caleb. “Shout out to Team Ride or Die.”
