The first break has come and gone and we have our first big leader of the tournament. Tamara Goldshteyn is way out front after more than 4x’ing her 30K starting stack up to 129,000 in three levels. That is the clear lead and everyone is chasing her at the top.
The entry count clicked to 160 during the break, more than halfway to the $100,000 guarantee with a long, long time remaining for late registration.

The clock hit 10 am and tournament staff put cards in the air for Flight A of Deep Stack Poker Series Event 1. We have a big turnout to start the day with nearly 100 already in action, an early indication that the tournament will crush its $100,000 guarantee.
The will play three 40-minute levels before taking the first break of the day.

The popular May Deep Stack Poker Series kicks off this morning, an exciting series in the Poker Room that features a lot of chips and slow structures to give our players the most bang for their buck. Event 1 is a $400 buy-in Deep Stack NLH tournament with a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool and three starting flights.
Players start with 30,000 deep stacks and all Day 1 levels last 40 minutes. They increase to 60 minutes at the start of Day 2 and go up to 90 from Level 27 until the end. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Day 2 on Sunday at noon.
The three starting flights will play through 14 levels and survivors will return for Day 2 on Sunday.
Cards go in the air at 10 am and we look forward to a great series.
