Frank Stepuchin captured the WPT Gardens title in 2019 and James Carroll was our WPT Poker Showdown Champion a few months later, his second career WPT win.

The Deep Stack Poker Series hit another milestone in Level 10 with the 145th entry today, putting the combined total at 334 for the tournament. That boosts the prize pool over $500,000 and registration remains open until tomorrow at 11 am for the start of Day 2.

The dinner break ended, and players returned to action with six more levels left in their day. The entry count moved to 140, and a few more people are sliding up to the registration desk.

Mike Laufer continues to lead the field with 199,000 but poker pro Farid Jattin is not far behind with 177,000. Laufer scored big by winning the opening event of the 2021 RRPO series and Jattin did the same thing a few months later by capturing the Event 1 title at the 2022 LHPO series.

Players returned to their seats after the second break and we had a nice little rush at the registration desk. The entry count is up to 126 for Flight C to leave the field less than 20 new entries away from creating a prize pool over $500,000.

It’s a good day.

Mike Laufer is the latest to top the counts and sits with 172,800. Tom Schafer is second with 152,000 and Todd Rosenthal is still in contention with 150,400.

Laufer has some big results with us; he won the opening event of the 2021 Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open for $160,734 then earned another $215,000 a few months later for a final table finish in the 2022 WPT Poker Showdown Championship.
