Flight 1C came to an end with 28:01 remaining in Level 16, with blinds at 3,000-5,000 with a 5,000 ante. Amin Akhlaghi finished as the chipleader from this flight with 590,000 (118 big blinds).

This is the halfway point for the starting flights, with three in the books and three more to go. Flight 1D is already underway, with registration open until 10:30 pm.

Everyone who bags chips from a starting flight will finish in the money and advance to Day 2, which begins Sunday at 1:00 pm.

When hand-for-hand play began on the Money Bubble with 70 players left in the field, Scott Baumstein was down to just 2,000 in chips, and he’d be forced all in from the big blind in the third hand.

The first two hands passed without any all-in-and-call situations. At that point, Level 15 came to an end, and Level 16 began with increased blinds of 3,000-5,000 with a 5,000 ante.

In Hand #3, Baumstein was forced all in with his final 2,000 going in as the big blind ante. Three other players limped into the pot for 5,000 each — the hijack, the cutoff, and the small blind.

All three players check to the river on a board of , and they wait until action completes at the other tables before revealing their cards.

The final break of the day is over and action resumed for Flight C with 77 players remaining and 69 moving to Day 2 on Sunday.

Kevin Grabel is latest to hold the chip lead and it looks like most of his stack came from David Chase, the previous big stack is no longer at the table. The Northeast grinder is up to 390,000 and leading near the money bubble.

The fourth flight of Showdown Event 1 gets underway at 6 pm and the tournament has already put the $500,000 in the rearview mirror. The $400 Deep Stack prize pool is up to $555,060 and they are chasing $1,000,000.

Players start with 20K deep stacks and all Day 1 levels last 30 minutes, increasing to 40 minutes on Day 2 and 60 at the start of Level 24. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 10:30 pm.

Flight D will continue until 12.5% of the field remains and they will bag their chips for a Day 2 return on Sunday at 1 pm in the money.

Players are back in their seats after another break with 135 remaining, 69 advancing to Day 2, and Manny Amaro leading the entire gang.

He was the only stack we found over 300K and his 328,000 leads the field late in the day while David Chase dipped down to 242,000.

It looked like an uneventful hand, three in the pot with the flop reading . But all three players ended up with their chips in the middle with similar stacks and big hands.

The cutoff showed for the second nut flush, the early position players tabled for bottom two pair, and David Chase was feeling good in the hijack with the nut flush.

The cutoff was drawing dead and Chase faded a full house on the turn and to win the pot. After counting down all stacks, Chase had the biggest with 76,000 with the others stacked at 75,000 and 72,000 to send both players out.

Level 9 is underway, cards are back in the air, and registration closed for Flight C of Event 1. They put another 548 entries into the tournament to put the combined total at 1,682 at the midpoint of Event 1. The prize pool reached $555,060 and a $1,000,000 prize pool is in play.

Flight C will play down until 69 players remain and they will advance to Day 2 on Sunday at 1 pm in the money.
