Event 46 of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown was a charity event in honor of Larry Frank, and with proceeds going to Make-A-Wish Southern Florida.

The prizepool was set ahead of time at $13,700, going to the nine final tablists, and they would also receive non-cash prizes valued at a total of $9,200.

With 94 entries, the field raised $12,620, which will be going to Make-A-Wish Southern Florida. There was also a silent auction with some pretty impressive donated items, and those proceeds were also going to Make-A-Wish Southern Florida.

Eric Diaz won the top prize of $5,000 plus a $3,500 seat into the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship, which begins tomorrow. Diaz was thrilled about playing in his first WPT event.

Helene Corcoran called all in under the gun for 2,500, and Anthony Zinno moved all in from the hijack for 14,000. Matt Stout called from the small blind, and Eric Diaz called from the big blind.

CSOP Trophy for Event 46

As a charity event, the prizepool for Event 46 works a little differently, with the prizes locked in ahead of time (payouts listed below). So regardless of field size, the prizepool is $13,700, plus another $9,200 in donated non-cash prizes.

Since the field of 94 generated $26,320, everything above the $13,700 prizepool will be donated to Make-A-Wish Southern Florida — in this case, that’s a donation of $12,620.

Now, on to the actual prizes.

The nine final tablists will finish in the money, and each finisher will receive cash as well as an additional prize.

In a battle between members of the poker media, Chad Holloway (who has a WSOP bracelet on his poker resume) raised to 3,500, Al Rash (a.k.a. AlCantHang) reraised to 8,000, and Holloway moved all in with 19,500.

Rash called with a slightly larger stack and showed AsAd. Holloway turned over 9h9c, and needed to improve to stay alive.

The board came 6c5s5h8sAc, and Holloway turned a gutshot straight draw, only to see Rash river a full house to win the pot with aces full of fives and eliminate Holloway from the tournament.

Registration has closed for the charity event with 94 entries, and there were about 36 players who survived to the break.

There was a $1,000 bonus to whoever held the chip lead when registration closed at the end of the first break. We found three players with at least 70K in chips:

Vladimir Grechnikov, who won the RunGood Poker Series Main Event at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek a year ago, was confirmed to be the chipleader and received a $1,000 bonus.

There was also a $1,000 bonus for the player with the most entries, and that bonus goes to Terrance Reid, who bought in six times.
