The second and final flight of Deep Stack Poker Series Event 5 starts at 11 am and we have a little work ahead of us. The $600 Deep Stack tournament has a $150,000 guarantee and we need a lot of players today (plus max late reg in the morning) to hit the magic number.

Players sit with 40K stacks and all Day 1 levels last 40 minutes, going up to 60 on Day 2 and 90 minutes with Level 23. Late registration is available until the start of Day 2 tomorrow at 11 am.

Event 5 Day 1A: Yuriy Kozinskiy Bags the Overall Lead

Flight A of the $600 Deeper Stack ended with 21 of 98 advancing to Day 2 on Wednesday at 11 am.

Yuriy Kozinskiy bagged the overall lead with 339,000 with Kyle Lazzaro second with 335,000 and Al Norman and Adi Ben Ami tying for third with 315,000. Raminder Singh didn’t want to be left out of the $250 Deep Stack field, bought in during its last break, and put 234,000 away from Day 2.

Now he’s trying to grind up his stack in Event 6.

We had a shift at the top of the counts. Engelberth Varela added a few chips to his stack from two hours ago but Yuriy Kozinskiy did even better, building up to 296,000 for the late lead. Al Norman also topped 200K with dangerous players Raminder Singh and Willie Wiggins lurking.

Engelberth Varela, the Deep Stack Poker Series Event 2 champ, has a huge lead at the top of the counts with 250,000 on the nose. Kyle Sullivan is back in second with 132,500 followed by Yuriy Kozinskiy and Raminder Singh in the 100K club.
