Former Real Housewives of Miami Star Dr. Karent Sierra is in the building, and sitting to her direct left is current Housewives star Joanna Krupa. Pop star Ryan Cabrera is playing also, along with local celebrities Sun Sentinel writer Nick Sortal, and 940 AM WINZ on-air personality Andy Slater.

We’re still a few minutes away from the highly anticipated start of tonight’s CSOP Celebrity Charity tournament, as the stars are strolling in through the red carpet. A few of the stars already spotted are Nathan Morris from R&B supergroup Boyz II Men, NBA Champion and Miami Heat Point Guard Norris Cole, and Actress/ Model/ Real Housewives of Miami star Joanna Krupa.

CSOP: Just Ten Minutes to Start

The celebrities and poker players are arriving and taking their seats in preparation for the 6pm start of the Habitat for Humanity Charity tournament.

Players will begin with 12,000 tournament chips and all levels are 15 minutes long.  Players in this event WILL earn points toward the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Leaderboard and SHRP Player of the Year standings. Late registration and re-entry will be available until the start of Level 9, approximately 8:15pm.

Matt Stout is trying hard to miss his own brainchild Charity Series of Poker Event in an hour after finding a big double. He flopped top and bottom pairs with As6h and dodged the flush draw of Luke Brereton to move over 110,000.

Meanwhile on Table 3, Elliott Zaydman was all-in with Julian Sacks with a race.

“I never win these,” Sacks said as he was standing before the flop. The board ran out 9h4d2c5d7c to back up his statement. The field is down to 16 players with the bubble looming.

Event 16: Dropping Quickly

Players are quickly dropping and we’re on the cusp of redrawing at 18 players. Among the early exits were Luke Graham with his small stack and the mysterious A. Jones.

Matt Stout is getting short but is enjoying his time until his Charity Series of Poker kicks off at 6pm, when he will perform double duties.

(August 26, 2014) – Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino has announced its confirmed list of celebrities who will be playing in the  Charity Series of Poker (“CSOP”) tournament taking place on Wednesday, August 27 at 6 p.m. The CSOP tournament was recently added to the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open schedule and will benefit Habitat For Humanity International and Habitat for Humanity of Broward.

The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open runs August 14 – September 3, 2014. The Championship features a signature $10 million guaranteed prize pool, with 30,000 in tournament chips and three starting flights on Thursday, August 28, Friday, August 29 and Saturday, August 30.  Players may play any or all starting flights. Re-entry will be allowed for nine levels.  The $10 million guarantee will make two new millionaires out of the first and second place winners.

Charity Series of Poker Trophy

The Charity Series of Poker, brain child of poker pro Matt Stout, will be holding their next event on August 27th at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The $300 buy-in charity tournament will benefit Habitat For Humanity International and Habitat For Humanity of Broward and feature a lot of great prizes including entry into the $10,000,000 Guarantee 2014 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Main Event.

Half of the buy-in will go the Habitat for Humanity organizations with the rest going into the tournament prizepool. The structure will generate plenty of action and raise a lot of money for these worthy charities.

The tournament will have a lot of top pros and celebrities, now it has a trophy.

We found more poker superstars in the house!

First, we’re very happy to be joined here in Hollywood, FL by 2010 WSOP Main Event runner-up John Racener.  Racener is coming off a runner-up finish in Event #38 of the World Series of Poker losing a tough battle to German poker superstar George Danzer.

Next, Will Givens is in the field as well.  The Colorado native won his first WSOP bracelet in Event #45 and also took 4th in Event #33.

Finally, Matt Stout is also here.  Stout finished 5th in the 5 Million Dollar Guarantee here last spring and added three more WSOP cashes this year including a third place finish in Event #31.

Stout and The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open will also be hosting the Charity Series of Poker Big Stack Turbo No Limit Hold’em tournament which will take place on August 27th at 6p.m. with a $300 buy-in.  The tournament will benefit Habitat for Humanity International and Broward County.
