With the tournament just getting into Level 8, players are falling right and left. November Niner Neil Blumenfield was the victim of some tough luck to send him out the door.

After a flop of , the big blind checked, and Tom Nguyen (UTG+1) bet 1,200. Matt Stout called from middle position, and the big blind folded. The turn was the , Nguyen bet 2,200, and Stout called.
The river was the , Nguyen checked, Stout bet 4,500, and Nguyen tanked for a while before he called. Stout showed to win the pot with a pair of tens, and Nguyen mucked.

Faraz Jaka just doubled up and now Seminole Hard Rock Poker ambassador Jared Jaffee got into the action.
Jaffee was put to the test on a board when Pedro Palacio put him all-in for his last 20,225 chips. Jaffee went into the tank while lamenting the bullets he’d fired in the tournament. He finally made the call and it turned out to be the right one. Palacio showed and Jaffee turned up for the lead.
A harmless came on the river giving Jaffee the double-up and taking him to 58,400 chips as we near the end of Level 7.

With Phil Laak, Faraz Jaka and TJ Shulman going to a flop, Phil Laak said he was playing with fire but Jaka turned out to be the one holding the torch.
On a flop of , Jaka bet out 2,800 with Shulman making the call and Laak getting out of the way. The hit the turn and Jaka fired out another 6,200. Shulman raised to 20,000 putting Jaka all-in for his last 15,500 chips. Jaka made the call and Shulman saw the bad news when Jaka showed against Shulman’s .
The came out on the river and Jaka was all smiles as he doubled up to 43,550 chips to get back into the tournament.

Noah Schwartz was eliminated in the final hand before the dinner break, making him one of the final players to re-enter the tournament before registration closed.
Unfortunately for Loni Harwood, she was eliminated shortly after the dinner break, when the re-entry option is no longer available.

Our players have returned from their dinner break and play has now resumed in the Championship Event. Play resumes at Level 7 with blinds at 250/500 with a 75 ante. Play will continue this evening until the end of Level 10 setting up the Day 2 field.

Shawn Nguyen is the chip leader coming back from break and he’s setting himself up for another nice Championship run. The last time we saw Nguyen with a ton of chips, he was on the way to the 2015 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship televised final table.
