The final table started on the Money Bubble around 8:50 pm, and it took nearly 90 minutes to burst the bubble.

Jean Laurent raised from middle position to 40,000, and Michael Gross called from the big blind.

The flop came AcKsJd, Gross checked, Laurent bet 20,000, and Gross check-raised to 40,000. Laurent said something like “I guess we’re getting it all in,” and Laurent reraised with all of his chips to about 54,000. Gross called with a similar stack, and they turned over their cards.

Michael Gross:  KdKc10c10s  (set of kings)
Jean Laurent:  Ad6c3d2d  (pair of aces)

Laurent needed to catch something runner-runner to make a better high or a qualifying low to stay alive.

The turn card was the 9h, the river card was the 6d, and with no possible lows, Gross won the pot with his set of kings.

Both chip stacks were counted down, and Gross had a total stack (all bets) of 103,000 to Laurent’s 94,000. Laurent was eliminated on the Money Bubble in ninth place.

Jean Laurent  –  Eliminated on the Money Bubble
