2-7 Triple Draw

Erik Perry raised to 40,000 from the button (with 4,000 behind), Eugene Mistretta called in the small blind, and Josh Thatcher called in the big blind.

Mistretta took two, Thatcher drew one, Perry took two, and action checked around.

Mistretta took one, Thatcher drew one, Perry took two, Mistretta checked, Thatcher bet 40,000, Perry folded, and Mistretta called.

Mistretta took one, Thatcher stood pat, and both checked.

Thatcher tabled 8x7x6x5x2x, Mistretta mucked, and Thatcher won the pot.

Josh Thatcher  –  330,000  (8 BB)
Eugene Mistretta  –  390,000  (10 BB)
Erik Perry  –  4,000  (< 1 BB)

Shortly thereafter, Perry called all in for 4,000 in the hijack and action folded to Nick Zivolich in the big blind.

Zivolich: 3-1-1
Perry:  2-Pat-Pat

Zivolich turned up 7x6x5x4x and caught an 8x for a worst-case-scenario eight-high straight, while Perry tabled 8x5x4x3x2x for an eight perfect to triple up to 12,000.

Erik Perry  –  12,000  (< 1 BB)
Nick Zivolich  –  360,000  (9 BB)

During a round of Stud Hi-Lo, Nick Zivolich and Gary Kosakowski played a hand all the way to seventh street.

Nick Zivolich:  (XxXx)  2sJs8c2h  (Xx)

7th Street:  Zivolich checked his pair of deuces, Kosakowski moved all in for about 31,000, and Zivolich called.

Nick Zivolich:  (4s4d)  2sJs8c2h  (Qs)
Gary Kosakowski:  (KdQd)  7d6cKc9d  (Ks)

Charles Mayes

We have a great turnout for the Eight-Game Mix, a game with a small but impressive part in our history. This is only the fifth time we’ve run this tournament and the Showdown event was the first time in nearly a decade.

But when we did run them, we have some big-time WSOP champs take the crown. Jason Mercier won the first title, Corey Zeidman won the third, and reigning WSOP Main Event champ Daniel Weinman was the winner in between.

Not too shabby.

Early entrants in this run include Charles Mayes, Donny Rubinstein, and recent mix game convert Willie Wiggins,
