Event 9: Break Time

$570 Deeper Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

End of Level 20:  Blinds 5k/10k/1k ante

Level 20 is done and 95 players remain.  They’re currently enjoying a break.

Harrison Gimbel

Harrison Gimbel has chipped up nicely, approaching the 1 million chip mark.  Also still in the hunt are Noah Schwartz, Jamie Gold, Stuart Paterson, Mike Wang, and Jake Bazeley.

Don’t worry Brynn, PawPaw is still in as well!  Perry Johnston’s hanging on with 159,000 (about 13 big blinds).

Event 9: Claybrook Survives Bubble

$570 Deeper Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 20:  Blinds 5k/10k/1k ante

Douglas Claybrook
Douglas Claybrook

While playing hand-for-hand, Douglas Claybrook (Vidor, TX) was all-in for his last 16k and called by Julian Gallo in the big blind.

They had to wait patiently until the action was finished on all the other tables and after another player busted out.  If Douglas also busted, he would share 120th place money.

When it was their turn, Douglas revealed pocket Tens.  He was ahead, but racing against Julian’s AJ suited.

The board bricked out K 7 4 9 6 and Douglas survived, doubled up, and is now in the money!

Event 9: Quick Bubble

$570 Deeper Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 20: Blinds 5,000/10,000/1,000 ante

After a little administrative counting, the field went into hand-for-hand mode with 121 players remaining.

It only took one time around to get two all-ins called.

The short stack doubled on Table 5 but we knew it was going to be tough going for the shorter on Table 13. No one revealed their hand before action completed at the other tables but everyone knew it was Aces versus Kings.

Domenico Maurici (Hialeah, FL) was the shorter of the two stacks and rolled over KcKh. Troy Bercot (Palmetto, FL) had him dominated with AcAs and never had a sweat as the board ran out Qs7d4d3h6s to send the pot to Bercot, Maurici out in the unpaid 121st spot, and the rest of the field in the money.

Event 9: Soudai Soars Ahead

Level 19:  Blinds 4k/8k/1k ante

Svi Soudai
Svi Soudai

Svi Soudai (Pembroke Pines, FL) was up to ~800k.

Then he flopped a set of 9s to bust Joe Gibbons, who had flopped top pair.  That put him up to ~900k.

Then a short-stack was all-in and dominating with AQ againt Svi’s A6.  The board fell 8 9 7 K 5 giving Svi a straight and the pot.  He’s now up to about 1.2 million.

We’re rapidly approaching the money bubble!

Event 9: Coelho Folds Nuts

$570 Deeper Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 18:  Blinds 3k/6k/1k ante

After Vitor Coelho opened for 15k, Ken Begnoche shoved his short-stack.  James Frisk, who had over 600k in front of him, re-shoved.

Vitor tanked for a minute, then folded what he later said was AcKc.

Ken had pocket Aces and James had pocket Queens.  The board came Td7c6cJc3h and Ken more than doubled up.  Vitor would have turned the nut flush.

Event 9: Tweet-Outs

$570 Deeper Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
