Jeff Blankarn

Harrison Gimbel opened to 2,500 under the gun, and both blinds called, including Jeff Blankarn in the small.

The flop was Ks3d2s. The blinds checked, Gimbel continued for 2,500, and Blankarn check-raised to 7,500. The big blind folded, and Gimbel moved all in for 45,100 effective. Blankarn paused, deliberating long enough that Gimbel eventually spoke up.

“Flush draw?” he asked.

“If I was you, it’d be all in,” Blankarn laughed. A few seconds later, he did indeed call all in to put himself at risk, and Gimbel’s hunch was correct.

Gimbel: AdQd
Blankarn: AsTs

Gimbel’s high cards were ahead, and the 8d turn was a blank for Blankarn. The river was the 4s, though, and the latter filled his flush to double up.

Jeff Blankarn – 99,300 (83 bb)
Harrison Gimbel – 110,000 (92 bb)
