Three Trophies to be Awarded on Day 5 of 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown

Another Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown title was awarded on Sunday evening. Aleksandr Shevelev took down the $250 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack turbo for $13,462 after besting a field of 229 players in the first turbo event of the series.

While Shevelev was winning trophies, the opening event, the $350 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack Re-Entry event played down to the final table. After six starting flights over the first three days of the series, there were 518 remaining for Day 2, which was eventually whittled down to the final nine.

Vitor Coelho has the lead, but Jon Borenstein is close on his heels in the chip counts. The final nine players are guaranteed $12,114, but they are all fighting it out on the felt for the $140,476 first place prize.

Day 3 gets underway at 2 p.m. and they will play down to a winner.

The third event that was on the schedule on Sunday was Day 1 of the $1,100 No Limit Hold’em Six-Max. 122 players entered the event, but at the end of the day, 12 remained and Evan Teitelbaum held a sizable lead over the rest of the field.

Those final 12 also gets started at 2 p.m. and will play down to a winner.

  • 3 p.m. – Day 1B – $150 No Limit Hold’em Re-Entry – $150K GTD Prizepool
  • 7 p.m. – Day 1C – $150 No Limit Hold’em Re-Entry – $150K GTD Prizepool
