The field size at the World Poker Tour Alpha8 super high roller event at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open has grown to 16 players during Level 5 thanks to the arrivals of Matt Glantz and Joseph Cheong. Registration has been extended to 8 p.m. ET and we will probably get a few more late arrivals during that time. Andrew Lichtenberger was the first player to bust out of the tournament and it came in a hand against Jason Mercier, who is now the chip leader with 220,000.
In the hand LuckyChewy was all in for 38,500 with pocket sevens and Mercier had him covered with . The board was dealt and Lichtenberger was eliminated on the hand. Daniel Alaei was busted a short time after Lichtenberger as well.
Joining Mercier at the top of the chip standings is Erik Seidel, who is also above the 200,000-mark with 205,000. A stack getting into the danger zone is Jason Koon with 40,000.
