WPT Alpha8: Level 5 Report

Blinds: 500-1,000 with a 100 ante
Players: 14 of 16

The field size at the World Poker Tour Alpha8 super high roller event at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open has grown to 16 players during Level 5 thanks to the arrivals of Matt Glantz and Joseph Cheong. Registration has been extended to 8 p.m. ET and we will probably get a few more late arrivals during that time. Andrew Lichtenberger was the first player to bust out of the tournament and it came in a hand against Jason Mercier, who is now the chip leader with 220,000.

In the hand LuckyChewy was all in for 38,500 with pocket sevens and Mercier had him covered with Ac Kh. The board was dealt Ah 10h 3h 5d 3s and Lichtenberger was eliminated on the hand. Daniel Alaei was busted a short time after Lichtenberger as well.

Joining Mercier at the top of the chip standings is Erik Seidel, who is also above the 200,000-mark with 205,000. A stack getting into the danger zone is Jason Koon with 40,000.
