WPT Finale Down to 27 While Two Trophies Won

The $10,000 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Finale reached its final three tables on Monday evening and two more trophies were won as events #23 and 24 declared a winner.

Chino Rheem is the chip leader in the WPT Finale with 27 players remaining. Play resumes for Day 3 on Tuesday at noon with the field scheduled to play down to the final six players.

While most of the attention was focused on the Finale, Vincent Procopio and Jan Eric Schwippert both won trophies. Procopio won the $570 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em for $39,971 and Schwippert topped a field of 177 to win $51,328 in the $1,100 No Limit Hold’em Turbo.

The only other event running in this year’s Seminole Hard Rock Showdown was Day 1A of the $150 No Limit Hold’em Re-Entry event. The first of two starting flights drew 272 players and the tournament was stopped 21 minutes shy of the scheduled finish when it reached the top 10% of the field.

27 players remain with Chien Chiu atop the 1A chip counts. Those 27 will come back on Wednesday to merge with the survivors of Day 1B and play down to a winner.

Tuesday’s action at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino doesn’t slowdown at all. The $10,000 WPT Finale plays down to its final six players along with the kick off of four more events.

The 25,000 No Limit Hold’em High Roller event, the $2,200 Pot Limit Omaha, a $250 No Limit Hold’em and Day 1B of the $150 No Limit Hold’em Re-Entry all get cards in the air on Tuesday.
