(Hollywood, FL) — Michael Newman added to an illustrious South Florida resume following an outright win in Event 4 of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open. The Davie resident outlasted a tough, talented field of 86 entries in a $360 buy-in pot limit Omaha tournament. With a Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open victory already under his belt, he added another championship and a $7,740 score to go with it.

Newman is originally from the East Coast but now resides in Florida where he’s a business owner. He’s recorded more than 60 cashes — including six victories — dating back to 2007 and has amassed nearly $240,000 in earnings in that time.

His most-recent crowning achievement gives him a head of steam going into Day 2 of the RRPO’s $1,000,000 guaranteed opener. With a field of more than 5,000 entries, the $360 event went in the records books as the largest tournament in Florida poker history. Newman punched his ticket to Day 2 early bagging a top 50 stack with nearly 1,000 players expected to return to battle it out for the event’s $233,000 top prize.

While Newman will be but a face in a Day 2 crowd, he’ll likely be easy to spot with his head held a little higher than his counterparts’.
