Two flights are down for the 2026 Showdown opening event with two more today to get us halfway home. The $400 Deep Stack No-Limit Hold’em tournament drew 880 entries on a full Wednesday and they will crush the $1,000,000 guarantee by the time we reach the weekend.

They’ll sit down to 20K in their stacks and all Day 1 levels last 30 minutes, increasing to 40 on Day 2 and 60 minutes in Level 24. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 2:30 pm.

Play will continue until 12.5% of the field remains and survivors return for Day 2 on Sunday at 1 pm.

The victory marked Pacheco’s second SHRP major series trophy win, having previously won a Quad Stack Black Chip Bounty event during the 2025 Showdown.

The win marked Amir’s second SHRP major series trophy victory, having previously won a $300 Quad Stack Black Chip Bounty event during the 2025 Showdown for $6,421.

Heads-up play between Ariel Mantel and Loni Hui went back-and-forth, with neither player getting too short, and their chip stacks staying close to even most of the time.

Eventually, with Mantel in the lead, somebody mentioned an even chop, and after a brief discussion, they both agreed to it. These were their chip counts:

The flop came , Hui checked, Mantel bet 50,000, and Hui check-raised to 150,000. Mantel went into the tank for a long time before he three-bet it to 500,000.
