Event 4: Steven Lauffer – 7th Place ($885)

$250 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 20: Blinds 5,000/10,000/1,000 ante

Steven Lauffer was the quietest player at the final table but finally had to take a stand after climbing a few spots on the payout ladder.

It happened after Frank Simms shoved from middle position for 62,000 and action folded to Lauffer in the big blind with half that amount.

He called with Ah3s and was at risk against Simms’ AcKs. The flop ran clean for Simms with Jc7s5s but Lauffer added some chop outs on the Jd turn. No love on the 6d river and Lauffer was gone in 7th place for $885.

Event 4: Ian Pearson – 8th Place ($658)

$250 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 19: Blinds 4,000/8,000/1,000 ante

They kept their foot on the gas and the next big hand saw Julian Gallo get a much needed double up with AhKd but Ian Pearson wasn’t so lucky.

He was stuck with just 31,000 and he open-shoved for every one of them. It folded around to Avi Hakmon in the small blind and he just called. Frank Simms considered a call in the big blind but let it go.

Pearson laughed and said “I’m live” as he rolled over Td4c and was against Hakmon’s Qc9c. Pearson added a wheel draw on the Ac3h2c flop but was sent out in 8th when the board completed 2c7h. He picked up $658 for his efforts.

Event 4: Mark Fowler – 9th Place ($544)

$250 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 19: Blinds 4,000/8,000/1,000 ante

The madness unleashed by the Bruce MacGregor elimination continued just a few hands later when two players were at risk.

Mark Fowler had Avi Hakmon and Mike Green covered in chips but behind with cards. Green was ahead for the side pot with AhKh, Hakmon was ahead for the main pot with Ac8c, and Fowler needed help for the double KO with KsQh.

The board ran out AdJd6h5d4d to award the pots how they were favored and Fowler dropped down to just a few thousand.

Two hands later and Fowler called an open to 25,000 from Frank Simms leaving just a few 1k chips in his stack. He put them in after the Ad5h2d flop and Simms said he had to call.

Simms flopped top pair with AcJc and Folwer was drawing thin with 4c4d. He couldn’t catch a set or the gutshot to go out in 9th place for $544.

Event 4: Bruce MacGregor – 10th Place ($476)

$250 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 19: Blinds 4,000/8,000/1,000 ante

It took a little while to get the table draw, then move the players to the other side of the room (more convenient for spectators and payouts), and then a short break before getting things really going.

A few players were all-in without calls and then the flood gates opened. The first all-in call came after MacGregor three-bet shoved after a Adam Horowitz open to 16,000.

Horowitz called the bet with AsJs to dominate against Ac9c. It ended quickly when Horowitz flopped well with JcJdTd and MacGregor was the first out on the final table for $476.

Seat 3. Pedro Arez – 409,000
Seat 4. Avi Hakmon – 68,000
Seat 5. Bruce MacGregor – 106,000
Seat 6. Frank Simms – 119,000
Seat 7. Ian Pearson – 59,000
Seat 8. Julian Gallo – 95,000
Seat 9. Mike Green – 37,000
Seat 10. Mark Fowler – 112,000

Event 4: Nick Costa – 11th Place ($476)

$250 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 17: Blinds 2,500/5,000/500 ante

The stacks are deep and it took awhile to get one last bustout to form the final table.

Nick Costa was getting short and saw the Td8d7h flop along with Pedro Arez, who bet out 9,000 first to act. Costa moved all-in for 41,000 total and Arez took his time to think it out.

He eventually called with second pair/gut shot 8s6c and Costa said, “I’m playing Jack junk again” as he turned over Js2c. The board finished Ac3c to give Arez the hand, send Costa out in 11th, and form the final table.

Staff are redrawing for new seats.

Event 5: Moving Down

$1,100 Six Max No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 7: Blinds 100/200/25 ante

The $1,100 buy-in 6-Max event is slowly making its way down closer to the money with just 31 remaining of the starting 93.

They’ve just returned from their third break of the day and schedule to play 10 full levels before bagging up.

David Dayan – 84,725
Raminder Singh – 83,775
Gregory Baird – 82,700
Joelle Guarino – 75,100
Mike Beasley – 63,375
Jonathan Marks – 60,425

Event 4: Lisa Levy – 12th Place ($476)

$250 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 17: Blinds 2,500/5,000/500 ante

Lisa Levy is out of the tournament thanks to her final hand against Mike Green but the hand which did her in was against Julian Gallo.

Gallo was all-in with 5d5h against Levy’s AsQd and he knocked her down near the felt, mostly thanks to the Tc6c5c flop.

Levy was forced to take a shot with 9x5x but couldn’t win a flip against Green’s pocket Fours.

“Julian G isn’t done yet,” Gallo declared. “Put that in the blog!”

Event 4: In the Money

$250 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 16: Blinds 2,000/4,000/500 ante

It was a quick process getting down from 15 players to the money with 12 remaining.

Two of the last players to miss the money were Abbey Daniels and Marsha Wolak. Daniels’ went out in 14th when her QxTx couldn’t catch up to Frank Simms’ pocket Jacks depsite flopping the Td.

There were some talk among the final two table about a save for the bubble but Wolak was all-in shortly after the discussions broke down.

She open-shoved and made it past everyone except Steven Lauffer in the big blind. Wolak was ahead pre-flop with 9d9s against AcQd but Lauffer caught right on the Qh4d3c flop. She couldn’t find a two-outer and the field was in the money.
