The second multi-starting day tournament of the Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open” has kicked off in The Poker Room at Seminole Hard Rock. The $350 buy-in Event 10 has a $250,000 guaranteed prizepool with fight starting flights beginning with tonight’s Day 1A.

Registration will be open for players through Level 4 and they can also re-enter during that time if they are eliminated. Players begin with 20,000 stacks and 30-minute levels.

There will still be four other opportunities for players to buy-in to Event 10 with two flights running on Friday and Saturday at 11am and 7pm. All players who survive Day 1 will return on Sunday to play down to a winner.

The 11 remaining player are off on a 45-minute dinner break after two short stack eliminations and one of the dead stacks getting picked up. Norman Guigui was mistakenly registered for Event 9 by the cage and was one of the stacks blinding down. Staff corrected the problem, pulled his chips out of play, gave him a seat in Event 10, and we are now down to 11 players. One more elimination before the unofficial final table.

Leon Benmargui, longtime regular in The Poker Room at Seminole Hard Rock, is the chipleader through Level 12 with 202,700 and more than a quarter of the chips in play.

The field quickly dropped two more players from Event 9 when Luis Santino was sent out on Table 41 after having a bad day on the river while Table 40 lost the 7-seat with a big draw.

He moved all-in first to act after the flop and the 9-seat came along for the ride. The button player than opted to move over the top all-in as well and the 9-seat let it go after long consideration. “You have it, don’t you?” he asked the 6-seat before he rolled over for the flopped straight while the 8-seat showed .

The turn provided some drama and extra outs but the 6-seat faded them all on the river.

Those two eliminations left the field size at 16 with two dead stacks.

It took a little work but the field is down to the final two tables, those 18 players include two dead stacks which are being blinded down by players in the cash games.

The broke the third table when a short-stack moved all-in with the flop reading holding a flush draw with trying to stay alive against . He blanked on the turn and river to be sent to the rail and Table 39 is now a ghost town.

The final 18 players are heading in Level 9 with an average chipstack just over 40,000.

It was bound to happen, players finally started pumping the breaks and went an entire level without a single elimination. There 21 players remaining as tournament staff color off the green chips and players go on their second break of the day.

Luis Santino is making the best of his third bullet after getting all-in with a flush draw after the turn with the board reading [Td. He goaded his opponent in the 1-seat to call, “I’m bluffin, you should call.” When he eventually made the call, Santina tabled and the 1-seat responded by saying, “I have one pair” showing .

Santino stayed alive on his third buy-in on the river to double up to 35,000.

The rest of the field is rapidly shrinking with just 21 remaining. The player losing the least amount of chips is the 7-seat on Table 39. He is only the losing the blinds each orbit as he heard about a juicy 5/10 PLO game in the cash game area and left his stack for the moment.

Registration is closed for Event 9 of the Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open” and the players are getting a little overlay. The final tally was 48 entrants vying for part of the $15,000 prizepool and 30 players remain. Entrant 48 was poker professional Adam “Roothlus” Levy.

The final five spots will make the money with the winner picking up $6,150 and the guitar trophy.

“Rebuy! Where can I buy back in?” That was the question from the 4-seat at Table 41.

He was all-in with a club flush draw on the flop and was faced with two calls from a bigger flush draw and middle set . The turn and river blanked out and the 3-seat was shipped a nice pot while the 4-seat followed direction to hit the cage.

Players are on their first break of the day, leaving just 15 minutes left for players to register for Event 9.

Players are just getting their chips in with every draw imaginable, the best part of playing Pot Limit Omaha. Witnessed one player laying down top set of Tens, correctly, against two big draw. Both ended up getting there with the flush over straight.

Halfway through Level 3 and the board is showing 43 entrants with 33 of them still in play. Luis Santino is on his third bullet while some have elected to call it a day after their first.
