Event 4: Registration Closes with 311 Entries

$400 Deep Stack Pot Limit Omaha (Single Re-Entry)
Structure
Level 9:  600/1,200
Entries:  311

Registration closed on the $400 Deep Stack Pot Limit Omaha game and the number is huge. The tournament drew 311 entries which makes our biggest PLO field and it’s not close.

2021 Showdown (April) – 311 Entries
2021 LHPO (January) – 225 entries
2013 SHRPO (August) – 202 entries
2017 WSOPC (September) – 181 entries
2019 SHRPO (August) – 155 entries

We set a new record in January but it did not last long. Tournament staff are confirming the numbers and we will post the payout information as soon as it is available.

Event 1 Flight E: Eric Dillon Leads Late

$600 Deep Stack NLH (Single Re-Entry Per Flight)
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 12:  1,000/2,000 with a 2,000 ante
Players Remaining:  192 of 668

Eric Dillon

Flight E players grabbed their second break of the day not long after the field dropped under 200 remaining. Less than half of these players will make it to Day 2 and they should get there in a couple of hours.

A look at the stacks found Orlando’s Eric Dillon leading the field with 263,500. Chris Funari looks like the second biggest stack with 210,500 with several others reaching for 200K.

Event 1 Flight E: James Calderaro Making Waves

$600 Deep Stack NLH (Single Re-Entry Per Flight)
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 10:  600/1,200 with a 1,200 ante
Players Remaining:  224 of 668

James Calderaro

Flight E is quickly down to 224 players as everyone has an eye on the money bubble and making Day 2. Only 84 of them will make the money today and advance to tomorrow so there’s still some work to get done.

James Calderaro quietly worked his way through the field and sitting pretty. The WSOP bracelet winner is up to 120,000 from his 20,000 stack and patiently grinding.

Event 1 Flight E: Registration Closed with 668 Entries

$600 Deep Stack NLH (Single Re-Entry Per Flight)
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 7:  300/600 with a 600 ante
Flight E Entries:  668

Registration closed for Flight E of Showdown Event 1 and it drew 669 entries to put the combined total at 3,205. That number is already good for the second biggest $600 buy-in field in our history and we still have one more big flight to go to top it.

Event 1 Flight E: Sunshine State Visitors

$600 Deep Stack NLH (Single Re-Entry Per Flight)
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 7:  300/600 with a 600 ante

Jeremy Becker

With a tournament of more than 3,000 entries, you’re going to have more than a few visitors from around the country. We’re also seeing some friends from within Florida but usually seen on the other side of the state at our sister property in Tampa.

A few SHR Tampa Poker regulars this weekend include Jeremy Becker, Wally Maddah, Andra Zachow, Mark Wincell, Mark Wiser, Manny Minaya, and Cheri Beatty.

Event 4: Gabriel Ramos Going for Six

$400 Deep Stack Pot Limit Omaha (Single Re-Entry)
Structure
Level 2:  100/200
Entries:  132

Gabriel Ramos

The Deep Stack PLO game is going to get big. Between South Florida’s love of the game and the sold-out flights in Event 1, the number is flying high already and up to 132 in less than an hour. The record is 225 entries for our biggest PLO field ever, set in January, and beating it is a definite possibility.

Gabriel Ramos grabbed an early seat and trying to cement himself as one of our most successful players. He owns five SHRP Hollywood titles with all of them in some form of Omaha (wins in Big O, PLO8, Six-Max PLO, and two in OE) Those trophies are good enough to put him in a tie for third-most overall and one more will put him in good company with Brian Altman and Raminder Singh at six wins.

Event 1 Flight E: Back from Break

$600 Deep Stack NLH (Single Re-Entry Per Flight)
$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 5:  200/400 with a 400 ante
Flight E Entries:  555

Tournament staff implemented a staggered break schedule for the bigger events in the Seminole Ballroom to avoid large groups of players congregating in the halls. A third of the field was sent on a break at different times but all were in action at the same time when Level 5 kicked off.

We have 555 entries in action for Flight E for a combined 3,092 so far and a prize pool worth $1.6 million.

Event 4: First PLO Trophy Time

$400 Deep Stack Pot Limit Omaha (Single Re-Entry)
Structure
Level 1:  100/100

The busy Saturday in the Seminole Ballroom continues with the first Pot Limit Omaha tournament on the schedule. The one-day tournament will bring the four-card action players out along with those looking for a game after already advancing in Event 1.

They’ll sit down to 20,000 deep starting stacks and all levels will last 30 minutes. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 4:30 pm and players may re-enter once if they are eliminated. They have a dinner break at 6:30 pm and will return to play down to our first PLO champion.

Cards go in the air at noon and we will hit the highlights along the way.

  • Players begin with 20,000 in chips and 30-minute levels
  • Late registration/single re-entry until start of Level 9 (4:30pm)
  • This is a one-day tournament and plays until completion

Event 1 Flight E: Sliding Higher

$500,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 2:  100/100 with a 100 ante
Flight E Entries:  492

Neil Blumenfield

The re-entries are beginning to add up as Flight E players unfortunately find the felt. The entry count will climb slower than normal with no new entries but it will continue to grow until the re-entry period ends at 2:30pm.

SHRP regular Neil Blumenfield didn’t get shut out today. The 2015 WSOP November Niner grabbed his seat early and shooting for his first SHRP trophy after several close calls and final tables.
