Lisa Pickell
Flight C is creeping up on 300 entries this afternoon as they prepare to go on the first break of the day. With the weekend here, we are starting to see some of our out of town guests take a seat.
Lisa Pickell hopped a flight this morning from the cold Northeast and came straight to the Event Center for some action. The Jersey grinder has been hitting some nice results of late and looking for another big score.
The Massey Brothers, Aaron and Ralph, are practically South Florida pros with the amount of action they have down here. But they are Chicago boys and both have been going big over the last year with Aaron the latest big score, his third WSOP Circuit ring back in January.
The 2019 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown kicked off on Thursday with two flights of the $1,000,000 Guarantee opener along with a one-day Omaha 8 trophy event.
Flights A and B of Event 1 drew a combined 655 entries to put it on pace to hit the guaranteed prize pool early on Saturday. Flight A saw 42 players advance to Day 2 on Sunday and Flight B returned the exact same number.
Of the 84 already set for Day 2, Kyle Carino put away the biggest stack and his 362,000 is the early leader. Adam Mann came close to matching him in Flight B but he was two 1K chips shorter with 360,000 in his bag.
Other notables advancing include T.K. Miles, Jason Bral, Eli Levy, Jacquelyn Scott, Michael Tureniec, Marcus Stein, and current SHRP Player of the Year Brett Bader.
Harry Eisenberg Wins Event 2 for his Second SHRP Trophy
Event 1 wasn’t the only action in the Event Center on Thursday, we also awarded our first trophy of the series. The schedule is jam-packed with non-hold’em tournaments and the first was Event 3.
It was a $360 buy-in Limit Omaha 8 game for our split-pot fans. The tournament drew 67 entries to push the prize pool over $20,000 and the last nine players took home some money. Phil Hui was the headliner at the final table trying to earn back-to-back SHRP Omaha titles. He won the $570 Omaha 8 tournament during the Lucky Hearts Poker Open in January but fell one spot short of another this time around.
Harry Eisenberg beat Hui, the WSOP Omaha 8 bracelet winner, heads up for the title and outright win. This is the second major SHRP title for Eisenberg to go along with his 2018 Lucky Hearts Poker Open H.O.R.S.E. trophy,
Phil Hui

Arkadiy Tsinis
The Event Center is quickly filling and we added another 100 entries in the last 30 minutes. There’s a steady presence at the registration desk and a parade of players joining the field. A few more levels like this and we’ll be looking at the guarantee early tomorrow.
South Florida’s Arkadiy Tsinis took an early seat this morning with an eye towards his first SHRP title. He already has plenty of success elsewhere with a 2011 WSOP bracelet and four career WSOP Circuit rings. Tsinis came close to a fifth ring at our sister property in Coconut Creek when he made two final tables during their WSOP Circuit series in February.

Kelly Minkin
Flight C got a little tougher with the recent introduction of Kelly Minkin and Cindy Muchnick into the field. Minkin announced herself with a laugh and a snarl from tablemate Michael Newman. Muchnick is relaxed and taking chips.
Minkin deals more with tournament while Muchnick gets the reaction when she walks up to a cash table on the other side of the house.
Minkin has nearly $1.3 million in career earnings with her biggest cash coming here in 2015 when she finished third at the WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open Championship final table. She followed that up with her second biggest in the WSOP Main Event that summer when she was the “last woman standing” in 29th place.
“I play tournaments to knock people out. I’m sorry, it’s nothing personal, but that’s the way I play.”
“I ain’t pushin’ in unless I got the cold nuts.”@shrpo I’m home baby
For anyone looking to join these two talented players at the top of their games, we have a LearnWPT Ladies Poker Brunch tomorrow morning for those looking to improve their game. It is geared towards beginners and WPT Commentator Tony Dunst will be the instructor. The brunch is $50 and open to the first 50 who sign up plus WPT will raffle off five seats into the Ladies Event which starts at 3pm.
