On a flop of 8c7h2d, the small blind checks and the big blind moves all in for about 13,000. Gene Delgado is in the hijack and moves all in for about 18,000 and the small blind goes into the tank.

After a minute in the tank, the small blind tosses his hand into the muck and the cards are tabled.

The big blind shows AhAd, but Delgado was in the lead with his 2s2c. Delgado needs to fade an ace on the turn or river and does as the board is completed with the 4s and the 10s.

Delgado eliminates a player and has more than double a starting stack.

Gene Delgado – 48,000

On a flop of AdQs2h, the big blind checks and a player in middle position bets 1,000. Marvin “The Flying Duckman” Karlins immediately raises to 3,000 from the hijack. The button folds, the big blind folds and the hijack calls.

“I’m running hot,” said Karlins before the turn card is dealt.

The turn is the 9c and both players quickly check. The river is the 6c and the hijack bets 5,000. Karlins quickly moves all in for effectively the hijack’s remaining 27,000.

“I told you I’m running hot,” said Karlins while his opponent goes into the tank. “I’ll show you.”

The hijack hems and haws for a few moments before tossing his hand into the muck. Karlins shows Ah6h, giving him two pair, and his opponent lets out some groans of frustration as Karlins stacks the chips.

Karlins, who is known to many as “The Flying Duckman,” is most well-known for his fourth place finish in the WPT Bestbet Jacksonville Bounty Scramble last November. He took home over $119,000 for his score in Jacksonville and is the chip leader as Day 1F nears its first break of the day.

Marvin Karlins – 92,000

The big blind raises to 20,000 and Miles quickly moves all in. The big blind hems and haws for a few moments and then puts the rest of his chips in, which total about 55,000.

Miles shows KcKh and has the big blind’s 9s6s in trouble. The big blind is asking the dealer for a third nine, but the turn is the 2s and the river is the 4s to eliminate the big blind and give the pot to Miles.

Miles drags the pot and moves over the 200,000 mark as the day nears an end.
