The second day of the 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown is in the books and it was highlighted by the first trophy won.
Jordan Chizick won the $250 Omaha 8 or Better after a six-way deal was made at the final table. Chizick bested a field of 86 players to take home $3,966 and the trophy.
Joel Harwood, Loni Harwood’s father, took second for $3,406. The final nine players all took home a payday.
Aside from the Omaha 8 or Better, two more flights of the $350 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack Re-Entry events concluded on Friday. Day 1C kicked off at noon and drew 360 players. At the end of the 14 levels, Jack Towell emerged as the chip leader with 229,000.
Day 1D got cards in the air at 6:00 p.m. and played the same 14 levels as 1C. Timothy Miles bagged the chip lead in the fourth flight with 294,500 in chips.
With four of the six starting flights complete, there are 1,460 players registered for the tournament and are on pace to break the $500,000 guaranteed prizepool.
On Saturday, the only event on tap are the last two flights of the $350 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack Re-Entry. Day 1E kicks off at noon and 1F starts at 6:00 p.m. The survivors of those flights will come back on Sunday and merge with the survivors.
