WPT Poker Showdown Championship chip leader, James Carroll

After a month-long break, the finalists in the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown WPT Championship reconvene today to play to a champion at the HyerX Esports Arena at the Luxor in Las Vegas. From 1,360 starting entries, only six remain and it’s James Carroll that tops the play with a stack of 18,525,000.

Maria Ho

Carroll has his work cut out for him, though, with a talented group of tablemates that includes Maria Ho, Jerry Wong, Chad Eveslage, Eric Afriat and Ami Alibay. All have locked up a nice score of $148,380, but it’s the $700,175 first prize and $15,000 Tournament of Champions seat they eye.

Chip counts and remaining payouts:

Seat 1: Maria Ho – 16,650,000
Seat 2: Chad Eveslage – 3,350,000
Seat 3: Jerry Wong – 3,225,000
Seat 4: Eric Afriat – 4,425,000
Seat 5: Ami Alibay – 8,175,000

The button is on James Carroll and there is 43:43 remaining in Level 31 (75,000-150,000 and a 150,000-big blind ante).
