2022 Escalator VI Series Event 4 Champion Mike Chiappetta

Event 4 of the 2022 Escalator VI Series was a $600 No-Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry). A field of 1,129 entries generated a prize pool of $592,725, breezing past the $400,000 guarantee.

A three-way deal was reached at the final table and as the chip leader, Mike Chiappetta was the official winner, earning $82,449 for his showing.

This result marks Chiappetta’s largest career score, surpassing his $53,900 payday from Event 31 at the 2022 Lucky Hearts Poker Open.

“I’ve been studying a little more,” Chiappetta said afterward. “Going over certain spots, putting my opponents on ranges, board textures, just taking advantage of good spots.”

The victory puts Chiappetta past the $500K mark in career tournament winnings according to the Hendon Mob poker database.

Chiappetta was the Flight B chip leader and came into Day 2 sitting third in chips overall of the remaining 143 players. By the time the final table was reached, Chiappetta was in the middle of the pack. However, he found a rush and took a comfortable chip lead with six players left. He continued to chip up and eventually, the deal was reached.

“I had stopped playing for a little while, and this year I decided I’d play more. The feel is there and it’s been working out.”
