Mahabee had the two suited overcards for the race but it was the diamonds that did the deal immediately on the flop. The turn left no room for the miracle full house and Mahabee moved up to 27,700.

If Mahabee can pull off a win in this tournament, it won’t be his first RRPO title or his first series-opening title. He picked up his first RRPO trophy during the 2013 series over 188 entries in the $150 No Limit Hold’em. But his second SHRP win also earned him the biggest buy-in of his career. That came in the opening event of the 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open series and he took home more than $66,000 after a six-way deal in the 2,570-entry tournament.
