Day 2 of this event saw the return of 462 players, of which only 250 would see a payday. One of the early departures was 2006 WSOP Main Event Champion Jamie Gold. Another notable to make Day 2 but miss the money was Mike Beasley.
Mark Spies was the chip leader coming into Day 2 with 494,500. He hit the payout desk in 25th place, earning $3,626. WSOP Circuit Main Event Champion Rex Clinkscales made it to 13th place, cashing for $5,828. WSOP-Europe bracelet winner Tristan Wade clawed his way to 11th place for $8,634.
The last woman remaining in this event was Paula Barros. She picked up $1,563 for her 79th place finish.
After seventeen 40-minute levels, only eight players remained. They will return at 2pm Monday for the finale, resuming play in level 33 with blinds of 100k/200k/30k ante and an average stack of 7.22 million (36 big blinds).
