Event 10 Day 1C: Break Time

$300 + $50 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack

Blinds 200/400 Ante 50

Players are on their 2nd break of the evening, a 15 minute color up the green chip break. We’re starting to see eliminations happen quickly now – there are 95 players remaining out of the original 194. Some of the more recent hands:

–Queens losing to Kings, player with Queens eliminated.

–A-J against QdJd to double up.

–Pocket 8’s against Kings and 9-8 suited on a Qc8h3h flop. Turn and river were 6c4d and the set wins a monster pot to chip up to approximately 130K, which is probably good for the chip lead of Day 1C at this point.

And last but not least, on the final hand before break. A woman and her foe got it all in on a 9-9-7-J board. The woman had 9d8d for trips and a gutshot straight draw. Her opponent had T-9 for trips with a bigger kicker. There were still plenty of ways for her to stay alive as any 7, jack, queen, king, or ace would mean a chopped pot and a 8 would give her the pot. The river would give her a straight as it was a ten but that also improved her opponent’s hand to a full house. “It’s been fun guys,” she said as she stood up, a smile on her face. A slight shrug to go with her grin as if to say “what are you going to do?” Sometimes it’s just not in the cards. There’s always tomorrow fortunately.
