As part of a four-way chop, Yuleisys Torres officially finishes in second place, but takes home the High Heels Poker Tour trophy.
“It’s nice to have a trophy, it’s my first trophy,” says Torres.
Torres and Elissa Halbreich, who is listed in first place, do an even chop for $2,830, while Tonia Sledd and Tracy Rack each take home $1,092 as part of the deal.
“It’s crazy how poker happens,” says Torres who didn’t expect to make the money when she bought into Event 1. “Never did I think I’d make it this far, that’s why I jumped in (to the $1 Million Guaranteed tournament).”
At one point Torres was down to 29k at the final table, but hit a series of double-ups to take the chip lead and the ability to be part of the deal. At one point she was multi-tabling and playing hands in Event 1 while being blinded off in the ladies tournament.
