One of the biggest buy-in tournaments of the 2014 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open” kicked off yesterday with the $1,100 Six-Max NLH Event 5.

A very deep, slow structure balanced out the normal fast action of short-handed play and Day 1 finished with 17 players still around from the starting 93. Those 17 players are taking their seats now will still plenty of room to make moves with an average stack over 65 big blinds.

Even “short stack” Jonathan Marks will have nearly 22 big blinds to work with at the start. David Dayan leads the returning pack with 233,500 with some big names chasing him including Mike Beasley with his $1.3 million in career earnings and a victory in this event in 2009. Reigning Seminole Hard Rock Player of the Year Angel Vu with Torrey Korsog, Jeffrey Trudeau, and Gregory Baird rounding out the top five.

This will be a grind for the players with only the last nine players making the money.
