Former SHRP champ Jorge Gomez made a late move as the clock was running down and he found a good time for a monster.
He was involved in a four-way all in and his was ahead of John Binn’s with the button’s and big blind’s in trouble. The board was safe to send two out and catapult Gomez into the lead.

Dani Dayan continues to lead with 250,000 but Justin Harvell is closing on the top of the counts with 240,000 in late action. He made a final table tournament in each of our last two series as part of a streak that had him book six straight final table cashes.
2018 Lucky Hearts Poker Open Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Florida Event 2 $300 Omaha 8 or Better Entries: 78 Prize Pool: $19,890 January 11, 2018
The first day of the 2018 Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open series kicked off with the multi-day WPTDeepStacks event but we also awarded our first trophy. Event 2 was a one-day trophy tournament that featured the popular four-card game Limit Omaha/8. By the time it was complete, local regular Michael Moed added another Omaha/8 title to his credit along with the $4,000 payout.
Event 2 drew 368 split-pot enthusiasts and they built the prize pool up to nearly $20,000 by the time the $300 buy-in tournament closed registration. The tournament quickly played down from that point with only 12 players remaining at the dinner break and 10 of them set to earn some money.
It took one level after the return to form the final table ten and Moed was joined by fellow SHRP winner David Shmuel, a player who captured two titles himself during the 2017 RRPO series. Other regulars Carey Pickus and Philippe Goureau also made the money but could not book the win.
After Jordan Stone was eliminated in sixth place, the five remaining players worked out an ICM deal to divide up the remaining prize pool and Moed earned another win as the chip leader.
This tournament title was the tenth of his career and his eighth Omaha/8 victory. Six of those Omaha/8 titles came right here in SHRP games along with a dozen final tables. The win pushed Moed further over the $200,000 mark in career earnings and a nice little boost as he prepares for an expanded family.
Moed and his wife Angela, a very talented player herself, are expecting their second child in a few months and he is excited to meet the newest member of his family.
Congratulations to Michael on his continued dominance of the Omaha/8 games and good luck to the growing family.

Flight A is moving right along with 16 tables remaining and some big names still around including Kathy Liebert among the big stacks.
But the biggest belongs to SHR regular Jaime Wiegrefe closing in on 240,000 with only a handful of levels remaining in their day. The Miami grinder has a dozen career live tournament cashes with seven of them coming right here.
While the WPTDeepStacks event continues to play down to the end of their day, the Omaha/8 tournament hit their final table in the meeting room. Tournament staff moved the final ten players across the hall to play it out in the ballroom and they are back underway.

We found Jon Borenstein making his way through post-dinner action and he has a bit of success in both WPT and SHR tournaments. He made the final table of the inaugural Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Big 4 $2,650 Freeze-out and finished third in the SHR Showdown opening tournament for another $60,000.
Borenstein’s biggest cash came in the WPT500 Las Vegas this summer when he picked up $230,000 for earning the title to push him over $1.5 million in career earnings.
