Erik Seidel

The dinner break is just about to arrive, after which the re-entry window will be closed for this Super High Roller. This is the stage of the tournament in which the short stacks might look for a spot to take a stand, sometimes with lighter holdings than usual.

That was not the case in this hand, though. There was apparently a raise in position to open the pot, but the raiser did not factor into the rest of the hand. From the blinds, Seth Davies (small) and Erik Seidel (big) went to battle with similar stacks, getting it all in with Davies at risk for 72,400.

Davies: JsJh
Seidel: QcQh

The jack-high flop was a disaster for Seidel, and the Jd6c3sKsKd runout gave Davies a double-up with jacks full.

Seidel was left with just 2,900 chips, and he was eliminated by Isaac Haxton on the next hand.

Seth Davies – 155,000 (65 bb)
Erik Seidel – Eliminated

Super High Roller: Koray Aldemir Eliminated by Nick Petrangelo; David Peters Rejoins

David Peters

Koray Aldemir was down to less than half a starting stack before being eliminated by Nick Petrangelo a moment ago. Aldemir was working on his second attempt in this event, and he’s still lurking around the room. He has until the end of the upcoming dinner break to rejoin the field, should he so choose.

Two entries weren’t enough for David Peters, though. Peters has just entered for the third time, taking the seat between Bryn Kenney and Rainer Kempe at Table 1.

The third time might be the charm, too. Peters doubled up in his very first hand at the table, winning a flip with pocket tens against Stephen Chidwick’s ace-queen.

David Peters – 200,000 (83 bb)
Stephen Chidwick – 87,000 (36 bb)
Koray Aldemir – Eliminated

Event 13 players are now on a 40-minute dinner break and the last chance to jump in this big prize pool game. They’ve already doubled the $100,000 Guarantee and it will run a little higher before they close registration.

The pre-dinner crowd includes Maria Ho (pictured above), Ari Engle, Aaron Massey, Scott Clements, Joe Kuether, and 2015 WSOP Main Event champ Joe McKeehen (pictured below).

They will return at 6:40 pm to continue playing down to the Event 13 champ.

Super High Roller: Giuseppe Iadisernia Eliminated by Adrian Mateos, Re-Enters

$50,000 Super High Roller
$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 8: 1,000/2,000 with a 300 ante
Total Entries: 21

Giuseppe Iadisernia

Giuseppe Iadisernia opened the cutoff to 5,000, and Koray Aldemir three-bet to 15,000 on the button. In the big blind, Adrian Mateos four-bet to 127,000, which was enough to cover both opponents. Iadisernia shrugged and called all in for about 70,000 to put himself at risk, and Aldemir folded out of the way.

Iadisernia: 8c8d
Mateos: AdKh

The Ac6c2c flop gave Mateos the lead, but Iadisernia had the only flush draw. The 7h turn and Jd river were both blanks, though, giving Mateos the pot with a pair of aces.

Iadisernia was eliminated, but he returned just moments later with a new ticket and a fresh starting stack. He was given the seat on Stephen Chidwick’s left at Table 1, and Sean Winter was moved to Table 3 to balance.

That’s 22 entries with 15 players remaining.

Adrian Mateos – 280,000 (140 bb)
Giuseppe Iadisernia – 100,000 (50 bb)

Koray Aldemir was eliminated a few minutes ago, and he wasted no time rejoining the action. Aldemir became entry number 21, bringing the field across the $1 million guarantee. He’s drew the seat to the left of Giuseppe Iadisernia at Table 3.

Bryn Kenney was moved to Table 1 for balancing, taking position on Alan Schein.

Koray Aldemir – 100,000 (50 bb)

While we were writing that David Peters double-up, he was eliminated for the second time today.

Ben Tollerene appears to be the man who did the deed. Tollerene is sitting with just over 350,000 chips now, and he has a little extra elbow room on his right.

Ben Tollerene – 355,000 (178 bb)
David Peters – Eliminated

Bryn Kenney did eventually join the field, taking the seat to Ben Tollerene’s left.

In one of his first hands, Kenney opened to 3,500 under the gun, and David Peters three-bet to what looked like 12,200 in the small bind. Kenney four-bet shoved for 51,200 effective, and Peters called all in for that amount to put himself at risk.

Kenney: 9s9c
Peters: AcKs

The board ran out AsAhQc3sKh, and Peters won the race with aces full. He doubled up.

David Peters – 105,200 (66 bb)
Bryn Kenney – 47,500 (30 bb)

While we have been keeping our eye on the Super High Roller, Event 13 in the ballroom went right ahead and blasted its guarantee. The tournament was locked into a prize pool of at least $100,000 and they have now cleared that then doubled it with 90 minutes left to register.

They are scheduled for a 40-minute dinner break at 6 pm and registration will close when they return.

Super High Roller: Rainer Kempe Tries, Tries Again, Surrenders

Rainer Kempe opened the cutoff to 3,800, and Stephen Chidwick three-bet to 11,000 on the button. Kempe four-bet to 26,500, but Chidwick promptly five-bet shoved with the covering stack. Kempe had less than 60,000 chips left in front of him, and he surrendered his cards into the muck.

“I made a good fold,” Sean Winter piped up from across the table.

“I didn’t,” Kempe answered.

Stephen Chidwick – 140,000 (88 bb)
Rainer Kempe – 57,000 (36 bb)

Bryn Kenney has registered as the 19th entry for this Super High Roller, but he’s yet to take his seat.

The clock ticked up one more with the re-addition of David Peters to the field, too. Peters took the open seat to the right of Ben Tollerene, bringing the field to 20 entries.

Bryn Kenney – 100,000 (63 bb)
David Peters – 100,000 (63 bb)
