The opening event of the 2021 Fun in the Sun was a $400 Deep Stack No-Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry). A field of 308 entries generated a prize pool of $104,720, more than tripling the guarantee.

A seven-way deal was reached at the final table and as the chip leader, Seminole Hard Rock poker regular Michael Newman was the official winner.

With more than $1.5 million in career tournament winnings according to the Hendon Mob poker database, and already with six SHRP major series trophies to his name, Newman added a Fun in the Sun trophy to his mantle as well.
