More notables in the game include Kelly Minkin, Michael Tureniec, Darrin Rabinowitz, Mark Dube, David “Coldstone” Inselberg, and Rafael Reis.

The first break is complete and Flight B is close to pushing the entry count over 500. With registration open until 7:30pm, the tournament will easily move the prize pool over $500,000.

We took a look at the stacks and found only one over 100,000. Steven Carswell’s 102,000 stack has him out front with Walter Chambers (71,000) and Jonah Miller (69,400) looking like his closest competitors. Other notables include Jason Atherley (65,600), Thai Ha (61,000), Sebastien Soares (53,000), and Peter Nigh (51,300)

David Prociak

Good news for the Pot Limit Omaha 8 field, David Prociak decided to play Event 9 this afternoon instead. That will free up someone else to win a PLO title this evening.

Level 3 is coming to an end which means the first break is almost here. The field hit 200 entries and getting closer to doubling up on the $250,000 guaranteed prize pool.

ICYMI: Day 5 with David Prociak Winning Again; Nick Ahmadi Takes Event 1 Title

David Prociak

You would think two players earning more than $200,000 would top the stories from Monday but we’re leading off with a guy who earned $10,000.

David Prociak is a tough opponent anytime he enters our tournaments and he locked up another title last night. The former Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year won his sixth career SHRP trophy in the $360 Pot Limit Omaha tournament against a tough final table. When added to his WSOP Circuit Hollywood PLO ring he won 2017, he has a pretty nice track record here.

Prociak’s Hollywood titles:

2016 SHRPO $360 Pot Limit Omaha
2016 RRPO $300 H.O.R.S.E.
2017 LHPO $360 Pot Limit Omaha
2017 LHPO $1,650 Pot Limit Omaha
2017 WSOPC $365 Pot Limit Omaha
2019 LHPO $570 Six-Max NLH
2019 Showdown $360 Pot Limit Omaha

Nick Ahmadi

Looking at the big money, we had two massive winner’s Monday evening but only one earned a trophy. Nick Ahamdi took down the 2,958-entry opening tournament of the series after a bonus day was needed for the final table. After several close calls, Ahmadi won his first title and took home $209,977.

Just as rich after the tournament but without the hardware, Germany’s Robert Pollmeier took home the exact same amount of money after a down-the-middle chop deal with nearly identical stacks when they were heads-up.

Lisa Teebagy

Rounding out the list of Monday’s winners, Lisa Teebagy continued a great run so far this series. She already had two final tables to her credit so far, third place in the Seniors Event and fourth place in the Ladies Event, and made her third last night in the Event 10.

Of the 543 entries in the one-day tournament, she was the last player standing in the early morning to take the title along with $8,469.

Event 9 Flight B: Jeff Kessler Back

$250,000 Guarantee | Structure
Level 2: 100/100 with a 100 ante
Flight B Entries: 125 (Total Entries: 387)

Jeff Kessler

Jeff Kessler could be excused if he decided to skip today or come in a little late. He had three long days over the weekend culminating in a third-place finish out of 2,958 entries in Event 1. It was a bit of a tough hit for the SHRP regular after holding a massive lead when they were three-handed but it went downhill after that.

Kessler earned more than $100,000 for his run which started with a satellite. He won his seat into Event 1 via a $200 Multi-Event satellite and rolled that into a six-digit score. Kessler’s prize from the satellite also included a seat in Event 9, so here he is.

Eric Baldwin

Flight B kicked off at noon sharp and quickly climbed over 100 entries in the first level. Another good start to a good day.

We found a few friends who traveled to get here this afternoon. Eric Baldwin is in town from Vegas and this is a nice warmup for the WPT Poker Showdown Championship starting on Friday. He is a two-time WSOP bracelet winner with his second coming this past summer.

Anthony Dianaty lives a little closer. He’s a regular in our sister room in Tampa and has a handful of wins on the other side of the state.

Event 9 Flight B: Last Chance to Bag

$1,100 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$250,000 Guarantee | Structure
Level 1: 100/100

Event 9 is already a success and we still have the second of two starting flights to go. The $1,100 buy-in tournament had a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool that was beaten in the first flight and now they’ll just be piling money on top throughout the day.

We had 262 entries yesterday and 35 survived to advance to Day 2 on Wednesday with Ofer Peleg leading. We should add the same number today and double the prize pool.

Event 9 entrants will sit down to 25,000 starting stacks and all levels last 40 minutes long. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 10 at 7:30pm after an hour-long dinner break. Flight B will come to an end after Level 15 and we will have our Day 2 field set.

We get underway at noon with a crowd of talented players.

  • $250,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool
  • Players begin with 25,000 in chips and 40-minute levels
  • Late registration/re-entry available until start of Level 10
  • Day 1 will end after Level 15 or Tournament Director discretion

Joel Harwood

The Pot Limit Omaha 8 game is cruising along as we head towards the afternoon with some Omaha wizards already playing and building stacks.

The early crowd includes Phil Hui, Joel Harwood, Brian Gelrod, and Carey Pickus. We’ll standby to see if David Prociak attempts to add another trophy after winning the PLO title last night.
