Jason Brin

Edward Liu opened the button to 2,300, Rex Clinkscales called in the small blind, and Jason Brin defended his big blind to create three-way action.

“Oh, we’re gonna play a big one now that registration is closed?” Clinkscales suggested.

The flop was 8d4h2s. It checked to Liu, who continued for 5,100.

“You’re not ready to slow down yet?” Clinkscales asked.

“I’m scared,” Liu said.

“Of?”

“Everything.”

Clinkscales called, but Brin check-raised to 16,000. Liu moved all in for 30,500, and Clinkscales quickly folded. Brin had just 8,600 chips behind, but he did not call immediately.

“Would you do that with just two overs?” he asked. Liu just laughed, and Brin eventually called to put himself at risk.

Liu: 3s3c
Brin: JdJh

The 5c turn made things interesting, as Brin picked up eight outs to a straight. The 6h river was one of those outs, improving him to a six-high straight to double up.

Edward Liu – 5,900
