Galen Hall opened to 1,300 under the gun, the player two seats over called, and Scott Davies called in the hijack to create three-way action.

The flop was AdKc2h. Hall checked, and the player behind him bet 1,500. Davies raised to 4,500, Hall called, and the bettor folded out of the middle.

The turn was the 4s, and Hall checked. Davies asked for a better look at his opponent’s stack, then bet 6,000. Hall called, leaving just about 11,000 chips behind.

The river was the Qh, and Davies made a covering bet. Hall called all in, but his AhTh was second best.

Davies showed 2s2d, winning the pot with a set of deuces. Hall was eliminated, but he has time time to re-enter if he’d like do to so.

Pillai moved all in with the larger stack, though, and Miles called all in for 24,675 to put himself at risk.

The flop was QhTd8d. It checked to Vohra, who continued for 2,000. Trudeau called, but DePersio raised to 8,500. Vohra moved all in for 16,550, and Trudeau re-shoved for 41,550. DePersio tanked and folded, leaving Vohra heads-up for his tournament life.

Jeff Trudeau Jr

Jeff Trudeau Jr is a regular face in our big events and the 23-year-old was taking advantage of the age limit in Florida before expanding his field.

He had dozens of cashes in the Sunshine State before he turned 21 and now he’s making a name for himself around the country. Trudeau most recently picked up his fourth WSOP Circuit ring in Choctaw and his other three series cashes included two final tables.

We mentioned Michale Quinn earlier in the day, one of the players today in the game on a freeroll thanks to a random drawing. Nathan Papp is another one but he earned his seat the hard way.

Papp is the reigning Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year and his winning package put him into all major SHRP Champions throughout the year. Papp picked up the POY honors thanks to a first and second place finish in the two Immokalee events for more than $100,000.

Michael Newman is the current leader and there are several series remaining to catch him. This year’s Player of the Year will receive a prize package worth more than $25,000.

The river was the 3c. It checked to Hastings again, and he bet 7,300. Once again, it took several minutes for a decision to come, but the big blind eventually called to see a showdown.

Hastings tabled AcJd to win the pot with a jack-high straight. He’s been steadily chipping up this afternoon, now approaching six figures.
