2015 LHPO Event 1 Cards 3

Seven flights have run for Event 1 and players are down to one last shot at the $1 Million GTD. The guarantee was reached earlier today and to push the prize pool over $1.2 million before Flight H rolls.

They will also hit a milestone at the start of play when we go over 4,076 combined entrants. That will make Event 1 the biggest tournament field in Florida poker history. There are currently 4,009 officially in the game but more than enough are registered before cards go in the air.

A big-time return on investment for the $360 buy-in.

Entrants today will sit down to 20,000 starting stacks and will play 30-minute levels throughout the day. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 10:30pm and unlimited re-entries are available during that time. They will continue play until the end of Level 14 and those with chips will bag them up for a return tomorrow at 1pm.

While the rest of the ballroom is barely containing the massive Event 1 field, registration closed on the Event 4 Pot Limit Omaha game with 86 entrants getting involved.

Michael Newman entered today after already bagging a nice stack in Event 1 and he’s doing well. Even though he’s not a big fan of the game, he is leading the way with 121,000 after the second break with John Binns in second with 101,000.

Prize pool and payout information will be posted as soon as it is available.

Alexandra Sherman (Miami, FL)

As with any tournament this size, not that there are many of them, it will take a few minutes for the big brains to run the accounting numbers before we know exactly how many entrants we have in the field today. Right now there are unofficially 994 entrants in the game to make it one of the biggest single day flights in Florida poker history.

Alexandra Sherman is among those still around and the former Miami-Dade court reporter would like to run up her late stack for a nice Day 2 bag at the end of Level 14. She has a little history in big field tournaments on her side, finishing 28th out of 904 in the Seminole Coconut Casino Stax $100K event this past May.

We’ve reached the second break of the day for the massive Flight G field to leave only 15 minutes to push the count higher.

One of late entrants is Seminole Hard Rock team member Darryll Fish. The former WSOP Circuit winner was busy this week cashing in the WPT Montreal Main Event but had to make his way home for a last minute chance at the big Event 1 money.

Andre Crooks (Lake Worth, FL)

Flight G players have reached the last level of the day with open registration and access to their re-entry option. They cleared the 900-entrant mark with plenty of time to spare and continue to run up the prize pool.

Andre Crooks is taking his shot at the (now) $1.1 million prize pool and he’s one decent cash from topping $600,000 in career earnings. He picked up his first SHRP trophy this past spring during the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown and followed that up with a deep run this summer during the WSOP Main Event. But the biggest score for Crooks came here during the Showdown in 2015 when he made the televised WPT final table and finished in third place for $383,000.
