Event 10: Tony Delacruz Out in 10th

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 34: 125,000/250,000/25,000 Ante

Tony Delacruz was all in from the button for about 2.1 million with Ah9c, and he needed to improve to stay alive against the KsKc of Peter Walsworth.

The board came QdJc2c3hQh, and the pocket kings held up for Walsworth to win the pot and eliminate Delacruz in 10th place.

Event 12: Hunter Cichy – 10th Place ($2,580)

$1,650 Purple Chip Bounty No Limit Hold’em (Single Re-Entry)
Level 17: 1,500/3,000/500 Ante

Qasem Jamhour three-bet to 19,500 after a Hunter Cichy open and Scott Zakheim call. Cichy moved all-in, Zakheim folded, and Jamhour quickly called with QsQd.

Cichy was in trouble with 5s5c and caught no help as the board ran 6c4c4s8h9h to send him out in 10th place for $2,580.

Now that Event 12 is down to nine players, the levels have increased to 60 minutes.

Event 12: Ira Schwartz – 11th Place ($2,580)

$1,650 Purple Chip Bounty No Limit Hold’em (Single Re-Entry)
Level 17: 1,500/3,000/500 Ante

There was no rush to get large numbers of chips involved with the exception of two moves by Scott Zakheim that were not looked up.

Ira Schwartz and Ryan Van Sanford were playing a friendly little pot against each other until Schwartz shoved after a Van Sanford bet and the board reading Jh6s2sTs.

Schwartz was on a flush draw and open-ended straight draw with [k]Qs but none of that mattered when Van Sanford tabled Ks8s to leave Schwartz drawing dead to 11th place.

Tournament staff paused the clock to redraw the final table ten.

Event 10: Edgar Varas Makes a Royal Flush to Bust Kevin Butler in 11th

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 33: 100,000/200,000/25,000 Ante

Michael Lewin moved all in from the small blind for 1,625,000, and Ivan Barbuto tanked for a while before he called from the big blind with 9d8h. Lewin turned over As3d, and needed his hand to hold to stay alive.

The board came 7s4s4hQs7d, and Lewin won the pot with his ace to double up in chips.

Michael Lewin  –  3,375,000  (17 bb)
Ivan Barbuto  –  5,125,000  (26 bb)

Edgar Varas - Royal Flush
Edgar Varas (pictured) rivers a Royal Flush in hearts.

At the other table, with the board showing KsKhJh6h on the turn, Edgar Varas checks the hijack, Kevin Butler bets 600,000, and Varas check-raises to 2,250,000. Butler moves all in for about 5.75 million, and Varas calls with [AhQh] for an ace-high flush (with Royal Flush draw). Butler turns over KcQc for trip kings, and he needs to fill up to stay alive.

The river card is — the 10h.

Varas makes an unnecessary Royal Flush to win the pot, eliminating Butler in 11th place on the final table bubble.

Event 14: Turbo Lovers

$350 Big Stack Turbo No Limit Hold’em (Single Re-Entry)
Level 1: 25/50

Our second major tournament of the day will be a quick one. Event 14 is a $350 buy-in Turbo tournament with a $50,000 guarantee that will play down in a hurry.

Players sit with 15,000 stacks and have 15-minute levels from start to finish. Late registration is available until 6:15 but only one re-entry is available to players if they bust out.

The fast structure and single re-entry will keep the field smaller, they might be done before the 11 players remaining in Event 12 find their champion.

Cards are in the air and we’ll keep an eye on them throughout the day.

Event 12: Playing From 11 to a Champ

$1,650 Purple Chip Bounty No Limit Hold’em (Single Re-Entry)
Level 17: 1,500/3,000/500 Ante

It’s a short but talented field that returns for Day 2. The biggest buy-in event so far during the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open drew 129 players to the big bounty tournament with 11 players remaining and regular local Erik Christensen leading the way.

They’re all looking for the $38,698 top prize and the first step is losing a player to reach the final table. It could be a long day as even the shortest stack, Scott Zakheim, comes back with 30 big blinds and they will switch to hour-long levels once they reach the final table.

Players are unbagging their chips and we should be underway very soon.
