Event 10 Day 1E: Angel and the Kevmath

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 2: 50/100

We have two players in their first tournament of the series, both are legends of different sorts.

Kevin “Kevmath” Mathers was once believed to be some mythical online bot with unlimited access to the information of the poker world. Turns out it was just a talented guy with a quick Google trigger finger for anything he didn’t already know off the top of his head. He’s back in the ballroom after playing a few events last summer.

Angel Vu has a well documented story here. She began working in a nail salon, became a chip runner in a poker room, moved into the box as a dealer, and then turned into a player who succeeded at almost every Seminole Hard Rock Poker Series in 2014. Vu earned Player of the Year honors with two tournament wins, six final tables, and one big trophy.

Event 10 Day 1D: Hillock’s Hijinks

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 10: 500/1,000/100 Ante

Josh Hillock has had a somewhat difficult tournament.  After saying that he’d fired more bullets than we’d care to mention and definitely drawing the attention of the room a few times this evening, Hillock checked his cards and splash-pushed his remaining 17,500 chips into the middle.  Hillock was called by David Nefzger and turned over AcJh facing off against KsQs.  Hillock was begging for his hand to hold up and it did.

Hillock yelled out “Positivity works!  There is a God!  I gotta text my girlfriend the news I doubled up!” as the pot was sent his way and the table cracking up.

Hillock proudly showed the fruits of his labor and is hoping to find a way to overcome it all and get into Day 2 tonight.
