Event 1: John Dollinger – 14th Place ($5,885)

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 33: 100,000/200,000/25,000 Ante

John Dollinger came back as one of the chip leader but his day ended early. He was mixed up in a hand with Dan Iman to see the Js3s2s flop and they both checked.

Dollinger moved all-in on the 2d turn and Iman called with his second flopped flush of the day. His As4s was good against Dollinger’s top pair Jh9c and no saving love on the river to send him out in 14th place for $5,885.

Event 1: Amrooei and Iman Double; Murphy Bluffs

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 33: 100,000/200,000/25,000 Ante

They are still playing fast on the last two tables with four more big hands in early action.

Kiarrash Amrooei put his short stack in the middle with Jh7h and caught the 7d5h2s flop to double through Marc Sacheli’s KhTh. Sacheli then turned around and doubled through Chris Boegler when his 5c5h flopped a set against 6h6s.

Dan Iman found a flop of his own to like when he was all-in against Robert Aron with AhKh versus AdKd. They were both freerolling for a flush and Iman hit right off the bat when it came 9h4h2h for his double over 3,000,000.

Chip leader Dustin Murphy took a big pot when he called a 400,000 raise from John Dollinger after Jorge Gomez did the same. Murphy check/raised to 1,100,000 after Dollinger checked and Gomez bet 400,000.

Only Gomez came along to the 3c flop and Murphy led out for 2,100,000 to get a fold. Murphy showed the 7x6x bluff with a smile.

Event 1: Alex Cabrera – 15th Place ($5,885)

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 33: 100,000/200,000/25,000 Ante

It was a fast few hands at the start of play. Steed Simmons came flying out of the gate with his short stack and picked up kings on the first hand to double through John Dollinger’s sixes.

At the same time on Table 3, Alex Cabrera was all-in with AK versus the pocket jacks of Viorel Chelariu. Cabrera found no love on the board and was the first gone on bonus Day 3.

Event 1: Bonus Day 3

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 33: 100,000/200,000/30,000 Ante

Event 1 was so big, it’s taking a bonus day to complete. There are still 15 players remaining after the 2,906 original entrants and 574 who returned for Day 2.

Dustin Murphy leads the gang with a better than 2 million advantage over Tuyen Le. There are four players with less than 10 big blinds so it shouldn’t take long to reach the final table ten.

The 15 players are now coming back into the room to start unbagging their chips so we can find our Event 1 champion, who is set to earn over $150,000.

Peter Chin won two events during the 2013 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open and has a nice start in Event 5 with the first break lead. He’s followed by Brett Silverman and Lois Bovit with just two more levels of registration.

Event 5 Day 1A: First Break

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 4: 100/200

Flight 1A is on its first break of the day with 215 entrants so far.

We’ll return with the first round of chip count updates but we’re pretty sure Errol Massey will be among the leaders after he flopped trip fives in a five-way pot, turned quads, and the board completed with a full house fives full of threes. Massey moved all-in and two spots called him playing the board versus his quads.

Event 6: Champs in the Building

$250 H.O.R.S.E. (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 100/200 Limits

A quick walk through the HORSE field found three past Seminole Hard Rock Poker champions.

Bruce McGregor’s second career tournament victory came during the Pot Limit Omaha event this past winter during the Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open.

Robert Campbell has a ton of tournament success, mostly in Omaha/8 events, with his latest coming in the Double Green Chip Bounty NLH event at the 2015 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown.

Luis Santoni has nine tournament wins with one of them coming in the HORSE tournament in November during the Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘N’ Roll” Poker Open.

Event 6: HORSEing Around

$250 H.O.R.S.E. (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 100/200 Limits

The noon-time hour brings up the next non-NLH tournament on the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open schedule with a little mix game action. H.O.R.S.E. will test the skills of the entrants with a smaller field but very talented players.

They will start with a stack of 10,000 and play 30-minute levels throughout the day. The games will rotate every eight hands between Limit Hold’em, Limit Omaha/8, Razz, Stud, and Stud/8.

Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 5, approximately 2:15pm, and the tournament is scheduled to play out in one day.

It will be an interesting day for the non-NLH grinders and we’ll keep an eye on them as they move through the tournament.

Event 5: Slow Growing

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 2: 50/100

Few people are fans of Monday mornings, and we seem to have a few of those today. Flight 1A of Event 5 is traditionally the smallest of the six starting days, mostly because it kicks off on a Monday morning.

The entrant count has ticked over 150 at the start of Level 2 so it’s on a nice pace despite not reaching the afternoon hours yet. Friend-of-the-blog Errol Massey is among that starting group, he has some big results here but looking to improve on his slow start this series.

Event 5 Day 1A: Low Buy-in Big Money

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 25/50

It will be a busy day in the ballroom with six separate Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open fields throughout the day; two restarts, a one day H.O.R.S.E. tournament, and three starting flights of Event 5.

The opening field is Flight 1A of the $150 buy-in tournament with a nice $150,000 guaranteed prize pool. Players can make a lot of money for a small price.

They’ll start with 12,000 stacks and play 30-minute levels throughout the day with late registration/re-entry available until the start of Level 7. The flight won’t end until Level 14 comes to an end (or they hit 10% of the starting entrants) and those who remain will bag up their chips for Day 2 on Wednesday.

Flight 1A is about to get moving and we’ll be here all day covering the action from all around the ballroom.
