Sheddy Siddiqui stumbled a bit out of the gate after the dinner break, but is back up to about 245,000 after eliminating an opponent.

With the board reading 7c6s3h, the player in the big blind checked to Siddiqui on the button and he bet 8,000. The player in the big blind check-raised to 20,000, Siddiqui called, and the 5s fell on turn.

The player in the big blind went all in for about 44,000 and Siddiqui called with Ah4d for a seven-high straight. His opponent mucked immediately, rendering the Qh river card moot.

Picking up the action after the turn of a board reading Qd2hAh10d, the player under the gun check-called 3,600 from 2013 Deep Stack Series Main Event Champion Sheddy Siddiqui in the hijack to see the Ks river. The UTG player checked to Siddiqui again and this time he bet what looked to be about 7,900. His opponent check-raised to 25,000, Siddiqui immediately reraised to effectively 77,000-ish, and the UTG player folded.

With that pot, Siddiqui is up to about 207,000 and is among the biggest stacks in the room.

Event 1: Day 1B Set to Begin

The May Deep Stack Series continues today with Day 1B of Event #1: $350 Deep-Stack No-Limit Hold’em event with re-entries and a guaranteed prize pool of $150,000. Yesterday’s Day 1A drew 212 entries and when all was said and done, 23 players made it through to Day 2.

Players begin with 30,000 in chips and the plan for the day is to play nearly 15 40-minute levels, with a 40-minute dinner break after Level 9 (roughly 6:30pm). For a look at the structure sheet, please click here.
