Sheddy Siddiqui stumbled a bit out of the gate after the dinner break, but is back up to about 245,000 after eliminating an opponent.

With the board reading , the player in the big blind checked to Siddiqui on the button and he bet 8,000. The player in the big blind check-raised to 20,000, Siddiqui called, and the fell on turn.

The player in the big blind went all in for about 44,000 and Siddiqui called with for a seven-high straight. His opponent mucked immediately, rendering the river card moot.

Picking up the action after the turn of a board reading , the player under the gun check-called 3,600 from 2013 Deep Stack Series Main Event Champion Sheddy Siddiqui in the hijack to see the river. The UTG player checked to Siddiqui again and this time he bet what looked to be about 7,900. His opponent check-raised to 25,000, Siddiqui immediately reraised to effectively 77,000-ish, and the UTG player folded.

With that pot, Siddiqui is up to about 207,000 and is among the biggest stacks in the room.

The May Deep Stack Series continues today with Day 1B of Event #1: $350 Deep-Stack No-Limit Hold’em event with re-entries and a guaranteed prize pool of $150,000. Yesterday’s Day 1A drew 212 entries and when all was said and done, 23 players made it through to Day 2.
